Week 14 Fantasy Football Rankings: Big-Play Performers Sure to Be Point Machines
It's playoff time in fantasy football, and now is when you hope your star players come through big. Everyone has that one player who is always a must start, as he is a lock to bring in the most points for you.
Of course, it's always nice when an unexpected player steals the show, but for the most part, each fantasy football player has they one go-to guy they always rely on.
This weekend's actions features some games where big-time stars are going to thrive over weaker opponents.
So, who will come out on top and lead all players in scoring? Here are five players destined to be point machines in Week 14.
Michael Turner, Atlanta Falcons
1 of 5Opponent: Carolina Panthers
Michael Turner loves to torch the Panthers, and he will have no problem doing just that on Sunday. The best game he's had all year came in Week 6 against guess who, the Panthers.
The Atlanta Falcons star running back rushed for a season high 139 yards and two touchdowns, which happened to be the last time he scored multiple rushing touchdowns in a game this year.
The reason for that is because the Falcons are throwing it much more, but since the Panthers are 27th in the league against the run, Turner is due for a big day.
Prediction: 120 rushing yards, 25 receiving yards, two touchdowns
Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
2 of 5Opponent: St. Louis Rams
Marshawn Lynch is hitting a great stride during these last five weeks, and his success will continue on Monday night.
The Seahawks' top running back is going to terrorize the Rams, who happen to rank as the worst run defense in the NFL. St. Louis did a fine job keeping him in check the last time these two teams played, but they stand no chance in Week 14.
Lynch will be at home, and once he enters full beast mode, the Rams are doomed.
Prediction: 137 rushing yards, 15 receiving yards, one touchdown
Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
3 of 5Opponent: Minnesota Vikings
Since the Lions' bye week, Johnson has been far from dominant. Teams are scheming against him, but it won't matter this Sunday because Johnson will have a monster performance.
His last 100 receiving game came in Week 9, but he has a strong chance of ending that against the Vikings. Their 26th-ranked pass defense will have a hard time limiting Johnson, much like they did earlier in the year.
The Lions desperately need a victory, and Johnson's stellar performance will help them beat their division rival.
Prediction: 87 receiving yards, three touchdowns
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
4 of 5Opponent: Tennessee Titans
Drew Brees has had a few rough patches here and there in terms of fantasy football, but he'll continue his hot streak in Week 14.
The Titans' secondary will struggle to prevent Brees from spreading the ball around to his many weapons. He excels at the deep ball this year, and fans will definitely see a few of those on Sunday.
Brees has a streak of three games with over 300 passing yards, and even though the Titans play better at home, they're not going to be able to shut down one of the league's top quarterbacks.
Prediction: 334 passing yards, three touchdowns
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
5 of 5Opponent: Oakland Raiders
The Green Bay Packers are on fire right now, and nobody is going to slow them down. Rodgers hasn't scored lower than 20 points this season in standard leagues, and that trend will live on in Week 14.
The Raiders secondary will be no match for Rodgers, who is coming off his best fantasy performance in weeks.
Expect Rodgers to keep airing it out, because he's too good to be denied.
Prediction: 312 passing yards, four touchdowns
