Tim Tebow Pro Bowl Nod Would Prove Game to Be a Sham
The NFL Pro Bowl is a joke of a popularity contest in which deserving players are often snubbed for guys who have reputations or big names. It's essentially the same as every other All-Star game in that respect. But while people have been able to defend it thus far, one player's inclusion would prove the whole thing to be a sham: Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
Look, I'm happy for Tebow that he has done well in Denver. I don't think he's a great option at quarterback but I'm not going to sit here and argue with the 6-1 record he has posted. He is doing just enough to win and has provided a spark and some energy to a team that desperately needed it. But he is in no way, shape or form a Pro Bowl-caliber player.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In 10 games this season Tebow has completed 75 of 158 passes (47.5 percent) for 1,054 yards, with 10 touchdowns and one interception. His quarterback rating of 87.9 is mediocre at best. He has also rushed 82 times for 468 yards and three scores.
Again, I feel good for Tebow that he's having success. He is undoubtedly a great kid and the public scrutiny of him has seemed incredibly mean-spirited at times. It's nice to see him rise above it and lead his team to wins. That said, he doesn't even come close to deserving Pro Bowl recognition.
Yes, Tebow has played a role in Denver's resurgence, but he isn't even the main reason for the Broncos' success. The team's defense is rapidly improving and its offensive line has become incredibly stout. Tebow has also been put into a position where he can use his strengths by head coach John Fox. Before we laud the 24-year-old with too much praise, let's not forget those other guys.
Tebow has played well enough for the Broncos to win. While that's nice, it isn't enough to earn him Pro Bowl recognition. He is a long way from being one of the best quarterbacks in football.
