NBA Rumors: Warriors Would Contend If Chris Paul Dominoes Fall
Here is something from the pile of never saw that coming: the Golden State Warriors could be the team to beat by landing not one but two stars this month.
The Warriors seem to be just a launching pad for stars working their way to spots on real contenders. Their continued life in meager efforts just didn't shout potential title winners to anybody.
This team is all fluff and no substance, pizazz without an ounce of poise. You can't win a championship by outscoring every team. Well, it may be time for things to change in Golden State for the better.
Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski tweets the following piece of hope for Warriors fans.
So all it would take is Tyson Chandler to land in Oakland first. Well, there is one small baby hiccup left to that—the team doesn't have the money to make that mammoth signing.
That is where one other sucker based in the NBA comes in. ESPN's Marc Stein tweets what could be the first piece in assembling a scoring machine that could actually defend the low block.
Biedrins' trade could give the Warriors the extra cash to make a real push at Chandler. Consider that Chandler would give the Warriors the defense they crave to go along with their rapid scoring pace.
Even without Paul, this is a fine idea for them to target Chandler once he hits the free-agent market this Friday.
When you consider what Chris Paul would deliver as arguably the best point guard in the NBA, you see that the Warriors have to do everything in their power to make these deals a reality.
It behooves them to set the wheels in motion to find a suitor for Biedrins. If that is consummated, it would be time for Warriors fans to start busting out the apple cider. We will save the champagne for the actual signings.
