Blake Griffin Talks to Bleacher Report About His Experience at Subway
L.A. Clippers All-Star Blake Griffin is a young player on the rise in the NBA and also a talent known for constantly putting work into improving his game.
Yet, maybe what Griffin really needs to work on is his SUBWAY® sandwich-making skills.
For Customer Appreciation Month, Griffin, a famous fan of SUBWAY® and top-notch young basketball talent, stopped in a local SUBWAY® restaurant in L.A. where he made free 6" subs for several customers to help kick off the national event.
Griffin referred to it as a way of giving back to the restaurant's customers in the community.
""I was back there making them sandwiches, giving out gift cards, just trying to help Subway say thanks to their fans," Griffin said.
"
Although the experience was a rewarding one for him, Griffin said he wasn't sure if his sandwich-making skills were where they needed to be.
The event is one of the first of the month for SUBWAY®, as the nation's famous sub sandwich chain, "during the busy holiday season...gives back to customers by offering a chance to treat themselves to flavorful and affordable subs."
""It was cool. I don’t know how I did," Griffin said. "I don’t really know if people were happy with their sandwiches, but I tried. I was a little slow."
"
Involved as both a famous fan of SUBWAY® and as a basketball player active in the community, the second-year Clippers All-Star said events like these are important in the community.
""Well, you know it is especially (important) for the NBA…getting back out there and showing fans appreciation," Griffin said. "And we're just making sure we’re out there, doing our part.”
