NFL Week 14 Picks: Miami Dolphins Will Rub Salt in Philadelphia Eagles' Wounds

There was just enough time in the NFL season for two teams to change places. 

Whoever said the NFL season was a sprint never considered what has taken place between these two teams. The biggest change of stations will play out as the surging Miami Dolphins take on the flailing Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday. 

Let's take a fictional DeLorean back to Week 1. The Eagles had just demolished the St. Louis Rams and the Dolphins were off on a string of games that had us wondering if they would ever win a game.

In a weird twist of fate, the Eagles are one of the worst teams in football and the Dolphins can be counted on to give a far better effort than most teams. 

The Dolphins are 4-1 in the last four games while the Eagles are 1-4. The worst came last week when a middling Seattle Seahawks wiped the turf with them.

The offense lacked any amount of punch and the defense was a joke. The Dolphins will go with pretty much everyone eles's game plan that has beat the Eagles this season: Start with a healthy running game and add a dash of timely passing.

The Eagles have been stretched thin on defense and don't have the prolific offense to back that kind of letdown up.

The same thing is destined to happen this week as the Dolphins have more than enough left in the tank to dispose of a team that is battered by injuries and breaking apart in the locker room.

You can always tell a shattered sidelines by the one player on the outs. DeSean Jackson plays the part of team cancer that will further exacerbate a team that hardly needs another issue raised. 

Plainly and to the point, the Eagles are not up to beating the Dolphins this Sunday. That would take a team that exudes confidence and is ready to prove its detractors wrong. This team is just ready to hit the showers after a long season.
