NFL Power Rankings: How All 32 Teams Stand Going in Week 14
We are heading into Week 14 of the NFL season. Some teams are pushing for home-field advantage. Others are jockeying for wild-card positioning, and the rest are wondering where it all went wrong.
It's time for the weekly power rankings. See which teams are on the rise and which are falling off late in the year.
Who is hot and who is not heading into the final weeks of the season?
1. Green Bay Packers
1 of 32The New York Giants seem to have a knack for pestering undefeated seasons, but Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers would not be denied.
A clinical last minute drive kept the perfect season going.
2. San Francisco 49ers
2 of 32The San Francisco 49ers pushed their record to 10-2 when they took apart the St. Louis Rams in Week 13.
It will be interesting to see how this mighty defense responds to the injury to their leader, Patrick Willis.
3. Baltimore Ravens
3 of 32The Baltimore Ravens have won three straight and remain tied atop the AFC standings.
Ray Rice abused the Cleveland Browns last week, and it could get even uglier against the porous Indianapolis defense in Week 14.
4. New Orleans Saints
4 of 32The New Orleans Saints have been tested in each of the past three weeks, and each time passed with flying colors.
Drew Brees has the Saints on a roll, taking down the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants and Detroit Lions in consecutive games.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
5 of 32These are not your father's Pittsburgh Steelers. Sure, the defense still plays smash-mouth football, but they have evolved into an aerial offense.
Look for the Steelers to handle the Cleveland Browns before heading into a tough Monday night showdown with San Francisco.
6. New England Patriots
6 of 32The New England Patriots have a legitimate shot to finish the season 13-3.
A Week 15 trip to Denver is their only remaining matchup against a team with a winning record.
7. Houston Texans
7 of 32The Houston Texans are desperate. Quarterbacks have been dropping like flies as the team just inked 41-year-old Jeff Garcia.
A quarterback depth chart of T.J. Yates, Jake Delhomme and Garcia is not all that reassuring.
The strength of Arian Foster and the Texan defense will be tested as this team tries to make a playoff run.
8. Atlanta Falcons
8 of 32The Atlanta Falcons are right in the thick of the NFC wild-card race.
Mike Smith's team needs to be careful to avoid a trap against the Carolina Panthers or Jacksonville Jaguars as they anticipate a Week 15 rematch with New Orleans.
9. Dallas Cowboys
9 of 32The Dallas Cowboys suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but will have a chance to put all that pain in the past.
The Cowboys still lead the NFC by a game and have the opportunity to stretch that lead with a win this week against the New York Giants.
10. Denver Broncos
10 of 32Perhaps you've heard of the Denver Broncos' quarterback?
He's an unconventional guy who has been remarkably successful at spurring his team to victories.
The surging Denver Broncos will continue to run the ball and rely on a tough defense while they see how far Tim Tebow can carry them.
11. New York Jets
11 of 32The New York Jets have stabilized themselves with two straight wins, but have no time to rest.
Rex Ryan's guys will need to make their patented late-season push as they currently sit just outside of the playoff picture.
12. Detroit Lions
12 of 32The Detroit Lions' chances of a return to the postseason are starting to slip away.
With losses in three of their last four games, the Lions are now behind Chicago and Atlanta in the wild-card race.
13. Tennessee Titans
13 of 32Chris Johnson is alive. CJ2K apparently just needed about 10 weeks to play himself into shape following his holdout.
The Tennessee Titans have won two straight and are contending for a postseason berth.
They will have a chance to make a dramatic statement during their Week 14 showdown with the New Orleans Saints.
14. Oakland Raiders
14 of 32Darren McFadden's supposedly mild foot strain has turned into over a monthlong injury, but backup Michael Bush has stepped up in a big way.
The Oakland Raiders need to prove themselves with back-to-back games against the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.
15. Cincinnati Bengals
15 of 32Rookies Andy Dalton and A.J. Green have led the Cincinnati Bengals to more wins this season than anybody could have expected.
The Bengals are still in position for the final spot in the playoffs, but their tough second-half schedule has caught up with them.
16. Chicago Bears
16 of 32Things have gone from bad to worse for the Chicago Bears.
After the injury to Jay Cutler, the Bears could ill afford to lose running back Matt Forte, but with a sprained MCL, Forte will be sidelined for several weeks.
Chicago is going to have to dig deep moving forward without its starters at quarterback and, for the time being, running back.
17. New York Giants
17 of 32Head coach Tom Coughlin is coming under fire as the New York Giants might be in the middle of another late-season collapse.
As tough as the past four weeks have been, the Giants have a chance to reassert themselves with two head-to-head matchups against Dallas.
18. Arizona Cardinals
18 of 32LaRod Stephens-Howling dashed through the Dallas defense in overtime to give the Arizona Cardinals a second straight win.
The Cardinals must now host the stingy San Francisco 49ers for a battle in the desert.
19. San Diego Chargers
19 of 32It might be too late for head coach Norv turner to save his job, but at least Philip Rivers looked like his old self in Week 13.
The San Diego Chargers will face the struggling Buffalo Bills before a tough Week 15 game against Baltimore.
20. Seattle Seahawks
20 of 32Marshawn Lynch went into "Beastmode" on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Seattle Seahawks are still clinging to faint playoff hopes, but at this point they are more suited to play the role of spoiler down the stretch.
21. Miami Dolphins
21 of 32The Miami Dolphins have bounced back from their 0-7 start with wins in four of their last five games.
Reggie Bush and Matt Moore will look to keep the good times rolling when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the lifeless Eagles.
22. Kansas City Chiefs
22 of 32The Kansas City Chiefs earned a gutsy win over the Chicago Bears last week, but are only 5-7.
The Chiefs' Tamba Hali and newly acquired quarterback Kyle Orton both suffered hand injuries during Week 13.
23. Buffalo Bills
23 of 32The Buffalo Bills miss Fred Jackson.
Even before the breakout star went down with an injury, this team was fading fast.
24. Carolina Panthers
24 of 32Cam Newton's strong rookie season has finally translated to a few wins.
The Carolina Panthers host the Atlanta Falcons coming off of two straight victories.
25. Philadelphia Eagles
25 of 32The Philadelphia Eagles continue to spiral out of control.
With a loss to the Seattle Seahawks, talk can shift from the playoff chase to the future of this team and coaching staff.
26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
26 of 32The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are stuck in a six-game losing streak after their 4-2 start.
This team will need quarterback Josh Freeman to come back from a shoulder injury if it is going to be competitive down the stretch.
27. Cleveland Browns
27 of 32The Cleveland Browns have lost two straight and still have two games against Baltimore in addition to this week's matchup against Pittsburgh.
It will be interesting to see what the team decides to do with running back Peyton Hillis at the end of the season.
28. Washington Redskins
28 of 32Mike Shanahan has finally made rookie Roy Helu his starting back.
Helu will try to show what he can do as the Washington Redskins evaluate for the future.
29. Jacksonville Jaguars
29 of 32Maurice Jones-Drew is one of the game's most talented backs, but he just can't do it all alone.
Jacksonville needs to hope that Blaine Gabbert matures quickly in order for this team to be competitive in the near future.
30. Minnesota Vikings
30 of 32The Minnesota Vikings were a team in rough shape even before the ankle injury to star running back Adrian Peterson.
Peterson could be back anytime now, and the Vikings sure do need him.
31. St. Louis Rams
31 of 32Sam Bradford must be anxious to put this injury-plagued, sophomore campaign behind him.
Head coach Steve Spagnuolo would be lucky to survive this vastly disappointing season.
32. Indianapolis Colts
32 of 32Coming in at No. 32 are the still winless Indianapolis Colts.
With the Colts all but locks for the right to draft Andrew Luck, it will be interesting to see how they handle their quarterback situation going into next year.
