NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Hot Rumors Swirling Around the Association

Gabe ZaldivarDec 6, 2011

Get with it.

On a night when the NBA schedules were released, settling the when and where, trade rumors continued to be the biggest thing on fans' minds as they clamor for the who and when.

Here, we have the five hottest rumors going on right now in the world of dunks, dimes and jumpers. We all have a love affair with the NBA, so it's only fitting that the lockout piqued our interest.

Normally, we have months to get through a swath of trades and free agent talk. Not this time. This will be an amazing couple weeks where teams take on a pace in the front office akin to the New York Knicks running the floor.

So I state again in a much firmer tone: Get with it. Don't be caught unaware about the most pressing news surrounding your favorite teams and the superstars coming and going from them.

Every last inch of the season will be frantic, and every last aspect will be revolutionary. So we can't expect the preseason to be much different.

From the Lakers to the Bulls and from Chris Paul to Dwight Howard, we have you covered like Rajon Rondo.

We are only a few short weeks out from the most famed opening day in recent memory. By the looks of it, the teams involved may have a very different look to them. The rich may just get richer making us wonder what that lockout was all about anyway.

If you are a fan of all things gossip and gab, you are going to love this.

Andris Biedrins Nearing Exit

1 of 5

The Warriors are making room for some incoming talent. Well, the hope is that talent is on its way.

ESPN's Marc Stein tweets, "Word is GSW (re)shopping Biedrins in hopes they find trade taker to free up more cash for pursuit of T-Chandler. In long-shot hopes, that is"

They better move fast if they want to make a splash in the free agent market. Biedrins is making $9 million this season. He is also scheduled to that number in 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Yup, I don't see many teams rushing to be on the hook for that much.

Dwight Howard and Chris Paul to Lakers

Here is the trade rumor that stopped the world from spinning for a few hours. What started as a rumor from the mind of ESPN's Chris Broussard landed on the Twitter feeds of just about every NBA fan.

This now sits in the land of unlikely scenarios. If the Lakers do get lucky, it will be to land one and not the other. At least that is what Brian Kamenetzky of Land O' Lakers seems to think.

The Hornets and Magic are sure to have a lot to consider.

Chris Kaman Getting Some Love

3 of 5

The Clippers are hot to get rid of Chris Kaman, but they just have this pesky DeAndre Jordan situation that needs to play out first.

SI.com reported earlier that the Clippers offered budding star Jordan a five-year, $40 million deal. He is bound to sit on that until free agency begins on Friday.

Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski tweets, "Spurs, Pistons keeping close check on Chris Kaman, but Clippers won't move him until resolution on restricted free agent DeAndre Jordan."

Kaman offers teams that best kind of player to bring in, one with just a year left on his contract and a player that can still add a positive punch on the floor.

Clippers and Warriors Battle with the Big Boys

That Chris Paul desire isn't just for great teams anymore. It seems the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors are in the market for CP3 as well.

The odd thing is that Paul would consider signing an extension with either of them, barring them signing on some specific talent of course.

Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski tweets, "Paul has indicated Clippers and Warriors could raise chances of keeping him long-term if they sign center Tyson Chandler too, sources say."

It is more and more likely that Paul gets moved before the season. That only becomes more certain with two more clubs in the mix.

A Penny for Dwight Howard's Thoughts

5 of 5

The Orlando Magic would be in the same exact boat that the Hornets are; they just have no idea what is going on in the head of Dwight Howard.

If he asserts that an extension is out of the question, the Magic could hurry and get the best they can for him.

Here is where we are with Superman at the moment.

K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune tweeted this on Tuesday: "Howard hasn't told Magic what he wants. Of course Bulls would inquire if sweepstakes begin. All signs point to Howard wanting Lakers or Nets."

Everything you need to know about Howard's situation is wrapped up in one little tweet. He continues to do the Magic no favors. If he thinks he is going to leave, he needs to make that known.

He can really hurt them by having them hold on and get nothing in return.
