NBA Schedule 2011-12: Twitter Reacts to New-Look NBA Schedule

Gabe ZaldivarDec 6, 2011

The NBA schedule has officially been released, allowing NBA fans to subsequently lose their minds.

The Twitter world ran rampant as the schedule was laid out in a special show presented by NBA TV. Now we can all plan out our next few months accordingly.

Consider that craze that has swept the nation in just the few short weeks since the lockout ended. Then consider that we didn't even have a flipping schedule in place for fans to discuss.

All that means is we are really about to get into hoops mode, and I love it. The world is captivated by the who and where of NBA free-agency trades and trade talk. Now they get a schedule to ignite the hype even further.

Here is how Twitter saw the release of the 2011-12 NBA season.

Perhaps all this lockout business was just a ploy to keep the NBA love going. At least, that's what I read between the lines of this tweet to start the night off.

Didn't I tell you people were up for this? When, besides the NFL, have fans ever reacted to a schedule like this.

This tweet is nice, but I never thought one of the best rivalries in sport was in danger despite a shortened schedule.

This tweet states plain and clear that Armageddon did not take place. This just proves the NBA season is normally too long. Can we please get a 70-game streamline?

This tweet states what's on everyone's mind amidst rumors that another big three could spring up in Los Angeles. Well, a bigger three.

Now this would have been something. This tweet really makes you think that this sport was made for doubleheaders. Well, at least for us fans it is, not the players.

Howard Beck tweets what should be some very bad news for the knees on these ballclubs.

Don't worry, fans, the trainers will have these players covered, I am sure.

Twitter has proved one thing: The NBA is winning. A lockout is supposed to be a death knell for a sports league. Instead, it has amped the fanbase up to new levels.

The schedule is set and now it's time for the teams to sort themselves out. I think I speak for every fan when I say, let's start this thing right now.
