NFL Power Rankings Week 14: Latest Report for League's Hottest Teams

Ryan PhillipsDec 6, 2011

Two NFL teams are rolling right now and they're doing it in different ways. The league's two hottest squads also have quarterbacks who are getting a ton of attention nationally and seem to be handling it extremely well.

Denver Broncos

Tebowmania has hit Denver and it doesn't look like it will go away anytime soon. After a 1-4 start, Tim Tebow took over at quarterback for the Broncos and they are 6-1 since. The Broncos are currently 7-5 and tied with the Oakland Raiders atop the AFC West. The team has currently won five in a row and have somehow won games even with their offense looking incredibly unconventional.

While Tebow has gotten a ton of attention, most of the credit for Denver's resurgence should go to the team's improved defense and stout offensive line. And let's not forget head coach John Fox, who completely scrapped the team's offensive playbook and developed a system that can play to Tebow's strengths.

The result has been wins and while Tebow is getting the press nationally, it has taken a team effort to turn things around in Denver.

Green Bay Packers

To call the Packers hot would be a ridiculous understatement. Green Bay is currently 12-0 and has won 18 straight games dating back to last season. While the team is on fire, their quarterback may be in the middle of the hottest run in NFL history.

Through 12 games this season Aaron Rodgers has completed 288 of 408 passes for 3,844 yards, with a league-high 37 touchdowns and just five interceptions. The 28-year-old also leads the league in completion percentage (70.6), yards per attempt (9.42) and his quarterback rating of 125.3 is an absurd 19.4 points higher than second place (Tom Brady, 105.9).

The Packers are easily the hottest team in the NFL and it's safe to say they are currently rolling through the NFC and have to be considered the Super Bowl favorites right now.

Both the Packers and Broncos have the most momentum of anyone in the league right now and neither team looks like they will slow down anytime soon.
