2012 NFL Mock Draft: Weapons Who Would Make Tim Tebow and Denver More Dangerous

Brian MaziqueDec 6, 2011

Tim Tebow and the Broncos are currently leading the AFC West. Winning the division will make it impossible for John Elway to replace Tebow with a "real" QB. The Broncos need to surround Tebow with the types of weapons that add extra dimensions to their run dominant offense.

That said, I fully expect to see John Elway select a QB later in the draft and for him to say that it is to add depth.

Considering that the Broncos figure to be selecting around 20th or so in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft, here are three players with the skill-set and projected availability to help the Broncos:

RB Trent Richardson

Some may believe Richardson will be gone by the time the Broncos pick, but I don't think that will necessarily be the case. The halfback position is a difficult one to gauge in the first round, as many teams pass to go for other more important positions. Also, Richardson does not have elite speed, but his smash-mouth, rugged running style makes him a perfect fit. He could replace the oft-injured Knowshon Moreno.

WR Kendall Wright

Wright is the type of explosive run-after-the-catch receiver that could flourish in the slot for Tebow. He also gives the Broncos an option as a return man. He could be big in winning the field position battle.

TE Coby Fleener

A tight end can be a QB's best friend. Fleener would offer Tebow a huge target and a capable safety blanket.

Here is the rest of my first round mock draft.
