Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups: Advice for Every Fantasy Football Roster

Zach KruseDec 6, 2011

The following is advice on the Week 14 fantasy football waiver wire:

Bears offense is iffy...

The Bears offense is coming off a game where they scored three points and allowed seven sacks against a poor Chiefs defense. Both Jay Cutler and Matt Forte are on the shelf, so this unit might not score much in the terms of fantasy points.

...But Get Barber

With Forte out, Marion Barber becomes a guy you have to get if you need a running back. He should get a good number of carries and will see touches on the goal line (if the Bears ever get there). You can't expect him to replace everything Forte did offensively, but Barber is a guy you can start right away next week.

Add Floyd and Brown

Need a receiver? I have two names for you that are still available in over 40 percent of ESPN leagues: Malcolm Floyd and Antonio Brown.

Floyd finally returned from injury and caught a long touchdown against the Jaguars last night. With Philip Rivers showing signs of life and the Chargers weapons back at full strength, Floyd could be a real value find late in the season.

It's baffling that Brown is still available in so many leagues. He's been the Steelers' No. 2 receiver for weeks and is productive every week. Brown has at least eight fantasy points in five straight games.

Get the handcuffs

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will likely miss another week, so Peterson owners should be all over Toby Gerhart. Minnesota's backup had over 130 yards of total offense last week.

Lions running back Kevin Smith can't seem to stay healthy, which makes Maurice Morris a guy that should be sought after. He gets enough touches and plays on a good enough offense to warrant picking up.
