NFL Power Rankings Week 14: Looking at the Latest Playoff Picture

After 13 weeks of the NFL season, this is how the playoff picture currently stands: 


National Football Conference (NFC)

1. Packers (12-0)

Just out: Lions (7-5), Giants (6-6)

Quick Comments

The Bears hold tiebreakers over both the Falcons (head-to-head win in Week 1) and Lions (better win percentage in conference games). Atlanta wins the tiebreaker over Detroit with a head-to-head win.

The Giants can jump the Cowboys for first in the NFC East with a win on Sunday night. Detroit could jump back into the picture this week, as it hosts the 2-10 Vikings.

The Bears have to travel to 7-5 Denver. The Falcons go to 4-8 Carolina.

American Football Conference (AFC)

Quick Comments

New England is the No. 1 seed based on tiebreakers over Baltimore (better conference winning percentage) and Houston (better strength of victory). Baltimore has a tiebreaker over Houston with a head-to-head win.

Denver wins a tiebreaker over Oakland based on a better winning percentage in division games. The Bengals win tiebreakers over the Titans, Raiders and Jets all based on a better winning percentage in conference games.

As is stands right now, the Titans also hold a tiebreaker over the Jets and Raiders based on winning percentage in conference games. The Raiders hold a tiebreaker over the Jets because of a head-to-head win.
