Donald WoodDec 6, 2011

While not everyone in America is excited for college football’s bowl season, those who aren’t don’t know what they are missing.

This is the March Madness of college football. The time when the best teams in the nation get together to face off in battles spread across a three-week period. It’s like having little Super Bowls every day.

The problem is that some of these bowls will be taking place on work days while you are stuck in the cubicle. It’s time to man up, fake an illness and watch you some football.

The following games are must-skip-work TV.

Houston vs. Penn State

The Houston Cougars came one game short from qualifying for a BCS game, but a loss in the Conference USA championship broke any hopes of that.

We all know about Penn State.

With the stellar offense of Houston squaring off with the top-10 defense of the Nittany Lions, points won’t be as plentiful as the Cougars like. As good as their defense is, Penn State’s offense won’t be able to capitalize on their chances.

Penn State will lose in a heartbreaker.

Florida State vs. Notre Dame

There was a point earlier in this season when the thought was that if these two teams were to meet in a bowl, it would be a top BCS bowl. Not this season.

After mediocre seasons for both teams, this will the launching point for one programs run into next year. That means both teams will be fighting tooth and nail for this Champs Sports Bowl.

Expect a bit of nostalgia when you see these clubs face off, and If you squint real hard, you might be able to think it’s the '90s again. Notre Dame will be victorious.

Michigan State vs. Georgia

While Georgia lost to LSU in the SEC championship game by a wide margin, it is still one of the best teams in the nation. They will be tested by Michigan State.

The Spartans have lost some bad games, but they come up huge on the big stages. While both teams are skilled offensively, it will be Michigan State’s defense that helps the team pull off the upset.

With the letdown of losing the SEC Championship and the potent defense of the Spartans swarming, this has a chance to get ugly for the Bulldogs.
