Ndamukong Suh Police Report: The Godfather of Portland?

James Van EttenDec 5, 2011

The sophomore slump for Ndamukong Suh continues to spiral out of control, and now, it appears his ferocity stretches beyond the playing field and has a Cosa Nostra feel back in his hometown of Portland, Oregon.

According to the Portland Police Bureau police report, the two women injured in the House of Spear's one-car crash left the scene of the incident because they did not want their photographs taken by onlookers in front of Dante’s, a local watering hole, and wish to remain unidentified.

Both women dispute Suh’s explanation of swerving to avoid hitting a taxi. “He was driving too fast and reckless all the time," said the injured woman who claimed to be sitting in Suh's rear passenger seat when the crash occured. "There was never a taxi. He was just going too fast, and he could have killed someone at Dante's."

One woman was “bleeding from the face,” according to the report when Suh lost control of his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle on Third Avenue.

The woman said she received a cut on her forehead requiring five stitches, along with a black eye, a "busted lip" and a torn shoulder muscle and the other woman, a bruised and swollen shoulder. Both women were treated at a local hospital.

When the woman with the more severe injuries expressed a need for a doctor, Suh disregarded the request by telling the 911 dispatch officer there was no need for an ambulance and that “everybody’s fine.”

Here's the audio of the 911 conversation.

Why would these women not wait for medical assistance at the scene of the accident? According to the women, because they feared Suh’s “family.”

Both women told police they left the scene because “Suh has a lot of friends and family and [she] fears retaliation."

Wow, where did this accident happen again? In front of Satriale’s in New Jersey or a bar in Portland? Did Ndamukong make these two women an offer they could not refuse?

Furthermore, where was the police investigation? If the woman’s face was bleeding, there had to be blood in the car right? Why did nobody question Suh? Is he above reproach in Portland?

We see this type of cover-up on what seems to be a monthly basis, but probably occurs weekly, if not daily.

Big-time athletes, college or pro, getting preferential treatment from not only fans but the men and women who are paid to protect the citizens of their communities; we all await the fallout from the allegations in State College, Pennsylvania, but I thought Portland, Oregon, was a bit more cosmopolitan, apparently not.

I’ll be interested to see if this goes any further or if it simply gets swept under the rug of corruption and misrepresentation.

Michael Corleone took his empire west to Lake Tahoe, seemingly the mobster mentality continued its westward trek to Portland.
