WWE: Watch Last Night's WWE Title Contract Signing for the TLC PPV

Chris HumphreyDec 5, 2011

When Monday Night RAW Super Show began last night, there was no idea who would be the challenger for CM Punk in the WWE Title match at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view two weeks from now.

As RAW Super Show went off the air last night, CM Punk didn’t have one challenger for the upcoming pay-per-view. The WWE Champion has two as the Miz and Alberto Del Rio qualified in earlier matches to be a part of the first ever triple threat TLC match for the title.

In the opening bout of last night’s show, the Miz got an assist from Wade Barrett in defeating Randy Orton to become the first person qualified for the title match as Barrett came ringside, drawing Orton up to the stage as the referee counted out the Viper giving the Miz a very easy win.

The Mexican Aristocrat was the second man to qualify, as Alberto Del Rio made quick work of an injured Daniel Bryan coming off his steel cage match with Mark Henry on the Smackdown Holiday special last Tuesday.

While those outcomes were pretty likely to happen last night, here is where the night got interesting on Raw Super Show.

John Cena defeated his friend Zack Ryder in a match where if Cena won, he would be added to the WWE titles match and if Ryder won, he would finally get his shot at the United States Championship.

After disgust fell over the CeNation leader following his victory over Ryder, John Laurinaitis gave Cena the ultimatum that his friend Ryder could have one more shot to earn a match with champion Dolph Ziggler, but only if he would give up his shot at the title at TLC.

In a move that shocked me, Cena gave up his shot at TLC to help Ryder in his quest to get a match for the United States Championship.

In the final qualifying match of the evening, the aforementioned Ryder came to ringside to distract champion Dolph Ziggler long enough for Smackdown Superstar Sheamus to hit the show off with the Brogue Kick for the win.

The night ended with the contract signing between Punk, Miz and Del Rio in the ring but how the Best in the World said at the signing, there are no contract signings in professional wrestling that end peaceful and this one was definitely no exception Monday night.
