John Morrison: Why JoMo Needs to Show Up in Ring of Honor

Donald WoodDec 6, 2011

John Morrison was wished all the best in his future endeavors this week, but fans still want to see the young star.

While Morrison is ridiculously gifted physically, he needs to put it all together in the ring before he becomes a great star. That’s where Ring of Honor comes in.

Most stars who work in the WWE have non-compete clauses in their contracts that say a wrestler cannot compete on anther company’s television programming within 90 days of their last appearance in WWE. JoMo doesn’t.

Regarding John Morrison, he is free to go where he wants as he has no non-compete clause with WWE.

In most people’s minds, this is the time when you take advantage of that contract oversight by WWE and show up on TNA the very next week. Nothing would show the WWE brass that they made a mistake more than seeing Morrison’s face on Impact wrestling.

That is not what Morrison wants to do. He is young enough to hone his craft for awhile and try his hand again at the WWE roller coaster again soon. If he goes to TNA, the relationship with he and Vince McMahon will be to the point of no return.

In Ring of Honor, Morrison would not only be the star attraction, he would learn the craft of technical wrestling. While ROH doesn’t get the publicity WWE or TNA has, it is world renowned for its plethora of stars that could out-wrestle nine out of 10 guys in WWE right now.

Just look at some of their former stars that have become mega-stars in today’s wrestling business: CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries and many more.

While Ring of Honor may not be the best place for Morrison to hone his mic skills, if JoMo spent six months traveling with the company and working closely with the ROH’s top guys, he would become a fantastic technical wrestler.

After taking time to improve his wrestling skills and some time to just recharge his battery, that’s when Morrison should make an attempt to return to the WWE.

Fans love this guy, so he will always be welcomed in WWE down the road.
