2011 NFL Fantasy Football Week 14: Tight Ends (TE) Rankings and Projections

Sean E. DouglasDec 5, 2011

Jermichael Finley vs. Raiders

Finally we saw a quality performance from Packers tight end Jermichael Finley as the Giants attempted to force Rodgers to beat them by limiting his opportunities to Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings. This is probably the best strategy to slow down the Packers, but when you have Finley, Driver and solid depth beyond that, this offense is still going to post 35 points or more if Aaron Rodgers is left with a clean pocket.

Finley should have another solid performance this week as we watched Dolphins tight end Anthony Fasano have a solid game with four receptions for 66 yards last week.

Vernon Davis at Cardinals

No doubt last week was another disappointing performance for Vernon Davis owners as the 49ers spent a good portion of the first half of the season keeping him in for pass protection, and fellow tight end Delanie Walker continues to be active in the offense. That said, it was Davis’ poor hands that dropped a 40-yard touchdown in the end zone, as Alex Smith couldn’t have thrown the football any better.

Just a few weeks ago, Davis had one of his better performances this season against the Cardinals secondary, and he should have another respectable stat line this week.
