Cliff Harris: Troubled CB Dismissed from Oregon Program by Chip Kelly

Well, Oregon Ducks star cornerback Cliff Harris is at it again.

On Monday, Brett McMurphy of CBSSports.com tweeted that Harris had been dismissed from the Oregon football program.

The junior was suspended indefinitely a second time on Oct. 24 for driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance. He also was ticketed in June by Oregon State Police for driving 118 mph on Interstate 5 on a suspended license.

According to KMTR, Harris was dismissed on Monday for violating team rules.

Harris had already missed the Ducks' last five regular season games this season and the Pac-12 championship after his suspension. Now, one of the top cornerback prospects in the nation will undoubtedly drop down NFL draft boards and be marked with the dreaded "character concerns" label.

Harris had six interceptions last season in Oregon's run to the BCS Championship Game, including one returned for a touchdown.

He now ends his Oregon career with 61 tackles in 27 games, eight interceptions and four punt returns for touchdowns.

It brings up the recent transgressions of former Florida cornerback Janoris Jenkins, who signed with North Alabama this season after being released by the Gators following two arrests for marijuana possession in a four-month span.

It's a shame, because Harris is a coveted prospect on the football field, but his foolishness off it strip him of reaching his full potential.

When a player doesn't take responsibility after numerous chances to make it right, you really wonder whether he will ever come around.

Now a once-budding Oregon career crash lands, and Harris continues to drive himself off a cliff.
