WWE TLC 2011: Why Internet and US Titles Must Be Fought for in Ladder Match

The Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view has yet to add any matches that involve tables, ladders or chairs. This is why they have to add one of these objects in the match of Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder for the United States Title.

This match has been in the makings for quite sometime. We have seen Ryder’s online petition to get his match against Ziggler for the US Title. Then we saw Ryder get a big victory over Jack Swagger to earn consideration from Raw interim general manager John Laurinaitis for the title match. 

Now, with this pay-per-view coming up, it makes perfect sense for Ziggler to put his title up against Ryder’s self-proclaimed Internet Championship in a Ladder Match. 

In Ryder’s latest episode of Z True Long Island Story, Ziggler attacked Zack at the end of the show. This was prompted after Ryder kept on bringing up how he pinned Ziggler on last week’s Smackdown and that Internet petition. 

With Ziggler blasting Ryder in the face with his US Title, it was the first shot in what should be a great build to a match at Tables Ladders and Chairs. Now where they have to go with this story is incorporate Ryder’s Internet Championship that he boasts on his show. 

This will give extra depth to their feud, as Dolph can bring up how he has everything to lose in this match, while Ryder has everything to gain. Yes, the Internet Title isn’t a real belt that is recognized by the WWE. However, the greatest ladder matches have been when two titles were hanging above the ring. 

Think back to Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X. They fought with both of their Intercontinental Championships hanging above the ring in an epic ladder match. 

These two superstars do not have to put on a match with crazy spots and insane bumps. Instead, these two superstars can put on a great show through their work rate. They can tell a great story without having to rely on the ladder to help pop the crowd. 

This is a match that can only be enhanced by the ladder being involved. With the US Title and Ryder’s Internet Title hanging in the balance, it will give extra drama to this match. 

If Ziggler would win, it would make Ryder’s chase to gain both titles back a story that everyone can get behind. While if Ryder wins, they can build a program for Ziggler to chase Ryder down to regain his US Title. 

This is a match that needs to happen at Tables Ladders and Chairs. Let’s hope that the WWE finally gives it to us.
