NBA Free-Agent Rumors: Top Teams Hunting for a Marquee Shooting Guard
The free-agent class of 2011 is filled with some talented big men that will attract a bunch of attention from teams around the league.
Aside from the big guys on the market, it's not an overall deep class of free agents aside from the shooting-guard position where several teams are looking for shooters.
Here's a look at some NBA teams looking to acquire a top shooting guard before the season begins.
Chicago
When you think of a team in need of a shooting guard, the first team that pops into mind is Chicago. Many feel that the Bulls are one shooting guard away from being legit title contenders.
If there is a rumor involving an available 2-guard, the Bulls' name is tied to it somewhere.
Unfortunately for Chicago, baring a sign-and-trade for a Jamal Crawford or Arron Afflalo, they may not have the cap space to land a top guy.
New Orleans
The Hornets are another team in the market for one of the top shooting guards and are linked everywhere from restricted free-agents Nick Young and Marcus Thornton to unrestricted free-agent Jamal Crawford.
New York
While the Knicks biggest need is a productive big man in the middle, they could still be looking at an upgrade at the shooting guard with Jason Richardson as one of their prime targets.
New Jersey
The Nets have plenty of cap room, and after exploring options on several front-court players, they could become a player for one of the top shooting guards available. Currently Crawford is very high on their list.
Indiana
The Pacers are also looking to make a splash this offseason and are also targeting Crawford as one of their top priorities.
