2012 NFL Mock Draft: Latest Stock Report for College Football's Best Playmakers

Chris TrapassoDec 5, 2011

The best part of December?

College football bowl season.

Yeah, Christmas isn't bad either.

The national title could be decided by defense, but this year wasn't short of offensive fireworks.

With the regular season in the books, let's take look at the pre-bowl game stock for the nation's top playmakers.

Andrew Luck

1 of 5

Luck's Stanford Cardinal face the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on January 2—the best day of the college football season.

He ended his regular season with a four-touchdown performance in a win over rival Notre Dame and currently has 35 TD passes with only nine interceptions.

The Oklahoma State defense isn't great, but they're opportunistic.

That Fiesta Bowl should have all the offense you could ever ask for.

Robert Griffin III

2 of 5

Think Robert Griffin III rebounded well from the lick he took against Texas Tech?

I do.

RGIII threw for 320 yards with two touchdowns on only 15 completions against Texas' stout defense in Baylor's 48-24 thrashing.

And he ran for two more scores.

The Bears beat the Sooners and the Longhorns this season.

Never thought I'd type that.

He's accounted for 45 total touchdowns on the year and has thrown only six interceptions.

My Heisman winner.

Stock Up

Trent Richardson

3 of 5

Richardson, a fixture in Alabama's backfield for three years now, had 205 yards on 27 carries in this year's Iron Bowl against Auburn.

He ran for more than 106 yards in all but three games this season and scored 20 rushing touchdowns.

A rematch for the national title against the LSU Tigers looms large, and Richardson could enter the game as this year's Heisman winner.

He's been that consistently dynamic.

Justin Blackmon

4 of 5

Blackmon's Oklahoma State Cowboys couldn't vault the Alabama Crimson Tide to get into the National Championship game, but they did all they could against the hated in-state rival Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday.

The best receiver in college football had 10 catches for 95 yards in the 44-10 victory.

He had at least 10 grabs in four of the team's last five games.

How pumped are you for the Stanford/Oklahoma State matchup?
