NBA Trade Rumors: Latest Updates from Around the League
It was a busy first week after the lockout for NBA rumors. With the beginning of training camps and free agency now less than a week away, expect the rumor mill to heat up again in the next few days.
Let's take a look at the latest trade rumors as the countdown begins towards NBA free agency.
Alex Kennedy reports that despite conflicting reports on whether or not Paul requested a trade, the request did come from Paul's camp and the Hornets don't want the situation to draw out in the same fashion as Carmelo Anthony a season ago. That alone may lead to Paul being traded sometime during the season.
While the Howard rumors were big last week, sources close to the big man said his top priority is to remain in Orlando. Howard hopes that GM Otis Smith can hit a home run in landing another superstar and has hopes for Paul joining him in Orlando.
Steve Nash
Those expecting Nash to be dealt should hold off on that idea for the time being. ESPN's Marc Stein reports that the Suns have been given no indication that Nash wants to be dealt and hold out hope that he will retire in a Phoenix uniform.
Chicago Bulls
In search for a two-guard, the Bulls may explore sign-and-trade deals for either Jamal Crawford or Arron Afflalo, reports Kennedy. Chicago is offering Ronnie Brewer and others to both Atlanta and Denver in an attempt to upgrade at the two-guard position.
Rudy Gay
The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that despite a Gay for Monta Ellis trade being rumored that the Grizzlies have no interest in dealing Gay.
Andrew Bynum
Despite Howard's claim that he would like to remain a Magic, he and Smith haven't spoke since the lockout ended. Sources close to Bynum say he expects to be dealt to the Magic in exchange for Howard.
