2011 Bowl Games: Boise State Will Destroy Arizona State in Las Vegas Bowl

Boise State failed to make a BCS game, but they will make up for it by blowing out Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Frankly, I'm not quite sure why these two teams were matched up against each other. It makes a little sense location-wise, but the Broncos are clearly the better team.

They have just one loss on the season, a one-point defeat to a quality TCU team. Outside of that, they have dominated opponents. They are seventh in the nation in points per game (43.3) and tenth in points allowed per game (18.3).

Yes, they play in a weak Mountain West conference, but we know that Chris Peterson is recruiting elite-level players up in Boise.

They aren't in a power conference, but there's no denying that the Broncos field one of the most talented teams in the country.

Several quarterbacks had great seasons in 2011, but Kellen Moore's may have been the best of them all. The senior completed 74.1 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,507 yards, 41 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

Moore was phenomenal at the end of the season, leading Boise State to three straight victories after their lone loss.

Conversely, Arizona State was awful down the stretch.

After starting out 5-1, they lost five of their final six games, including four in a row to conclude the season.

Head coach Dennis Erickson was fired after their last regular season game, and although he will coach in the Las Vegas Bowl, I'm not expecting his team to mount an inspiring rally.

Boise State will score early and often, making it apparent that they are on a different level than ASU.
