2012 Bowl Games: Oklahoma State Will Dominate Stanford in Fiesta Bowl
Oklahoma State got screwed out of a national title shot, and the Cowboys will express their anger by destroying the Stanford Cardinal.
I thought the Cowboys deserved a shot at LSU in the BCS championship, but obviously the pollsters disagreed.
So while Oklahoma State fans will have to endure an LSU-Alabama rematch, they can at least take solace in the fact that their team will dominate Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Cowboys offense is unstoppable, putting up a ridiculous 49.3 points per game. They've scored 30 or more in every game and have racked up at least 59 points on five different occasions.
While Andrew Luck gets all the media love, Brandon Weeden has undoubtedly had the better season.
The senior was third in the nation in passing yards (4,328) and fifth in touchdowns (34). He also has the pleasure of throwing to Justin Blackmon, who is the best receiver in college football.
This season, Blackmon ranks second in receptions (113), seventh in receiving yards (1,336) and is tied for third in touchdown catches (15).
The Cardinal also have a potent offense, but I have no faith in their defense.
They've only faced two BCS-caliber offenses and they gave up 48 and 53 points.
Conversely, Oklahoma State has actually shown that they can suffocate an elite offense, holding rival Oklahoma to just 10 points on Saturday.
Much like Oregon before them, I expect the Cowboys to score with ease. Weeden and Blackmon will hook up early and often, leading Oklahoma State to a dominant victory.
