2011 Bowl Games: TCU and Teams That Will Get Shafted by BCS
Every season a couple teams get shafted by the BCS system, and this year will be no different.
Despite solid resumes, these three teams likely won't get invited to college football's premier bowl games.
No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks
The Razorbacks might be the third best team in the nation.
They have two losses, but they came against LSU and Alabama, the two highest ranked teams in the country.
Unfortunately, Arkansas will get screwed by the system because no conference can have three teams in the BCS.
The Razorbacks deserve to play in a BCS bowl, but they won't because the SEC is just too damn good.
No. 11 Kansas State Wildcats
The Wildcats are another two-loss team with a tough schedule.
Their only losses are to No. 3 Oklahoma State and then-ninth ranked Oklahoma, but that blowout defeat to the Sooners looks worse now.
K-State would be in the BCS if they were unquestionably the second best team in the Big 12. But since they got destroyed by Oklahoma, they will likely be sent to the Cotton Bowl instead.
No. 18 TCU Horned Frogs
The Horned Frogs may be able to sneak into the BCS, but I don't know how likely it is at this point.
Their losses aren't too bad—Baylor beat them by two on opening day and Southern Methodist topped them by a touchdown in overtime.
The problem is that their 36-35 victory over Boise State was their only win against a ranked opponent. Other than that, they've been playing a cupcake schedule in the Mountain West.
When the BCS matchups are announced, I think TCU will be left out.
