Tim Tebow: Why Broncos' Polarizing QB Has What It Takes Win AFC West

Kyle VassaloDec 4, 2011

John Fox has created an offense that gives Tim Tebow the best possible chance to win. While the unorthodox quarterback doesn't have a shortage of critics, he's got what it takes to bring the Broncos an AFC West title.

The Broncos are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Although it seems like their "gimmicky" offense won't last, the plays put them in a position to win every game.

Tebow is given far too much credit for what he is doing, but he's been a huge part of their winning recipe. The defense puts them in a position to win and Tebow wills the team to victory with his fourth-quarter heroics.

It's not pretty, but it's effective more often than not. The Broncos are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Even though they are down heading into the second half against the Vikings, Minnesota can't feel the slightest bit comfortable with Tebow under center.

The Broncos aren't built to generate huge numbers to come from behind. That said, their defense has allowed only 17 or fewer points in their last three games. The defense has been instrumental to their success; the Broncos couldn't have won five out of the last six games without them.

Here's a look at the AFC West standings coming into Week 13.

The Raiders are losing 27-0 to the Dolphins and have the Packers and Lions in front of them. The Chiefs have to go on the road twice in the next four games and have the Packers coming into Arrowhead. The Chargers have dropped six in a row.

The Broncos may be nothing more than a one-and-done playoff team, but their division is uglier than Tebow's throwing motion will ever be.

The Broncos are going to win an ugly division in ugly fashion—and their fans couldn't be happier.
