Randy Orton and Mark Henry Are the Best WWE Has to Offer

Justin WatryDec 4, 2011

Let me put up a few notes first.

1. It is just my opinion. Not anybody but my own!

2. We are discussing 2011 only. Anything else is not the topic.

3. This is only about Smackdown performers.

I have long said that Mark Henry is the best man on WWE TV today. That has not changed one bit. However, he now has some company at the top of the mountain.

That man is Randy Orton. No other characters on WWE TV today carry as much of the "it" factor than these two.

With Henry, it has been a long time coming. Since his shocking heel turn in April, his bandwagon has slowly been filling up. It is only a shame some have jumped on too late.

Being a longtime fan of his, it is great to see his year. As he says it, all the doubters, all the cynics, all the haters have been proven wrong. Being one of his supports from the beginning, it has been a wonderful summer to watch.

With his recent win over Daniel Bryan, it is clear Mark Henry is the best performer in the company. Not only that, but he is the reigning World Champion, and he is NEVER, ever losing his title!

Randy Orton, on the other hand, has been amazing to watch all year. His past years have been great as well, but his best year has been 2011. It makes you wonder if the future can only get better for him...

He began the year feuding with The Miz over the WWE Title. While he was never going to gain the belt, he did a great job in making The Miz look like a credible main event player.

From there, he went on to feud with CM Punk. Their feud for a few months was top notch entertainment, and each match had the correct finish. Yes, Orton going over was the right move!

After that, he was drafted to Smackdown. While some look at that as a demotion, Orton has certainly made it a promotion. The Blue Brand is usually the better WWE show, and Orton has not lost his passion to perform one bit.

Gaining the World title from Christian right off the bat was a controversial move, but it wasn't in my mind. Orton is a bigger star than Christian.

Nobody is going to doubt that, so giving Mr. RKO the World title was absolutely the perfect way to establish him as the number one man on Smackdown moving forward.

Putting on excellent matches with Christian, and having one of the year's best feuds was only the icing on the cake for his move to Smackdown. His summer could not have gone any better...

Well, it certainly was going to get better. His feud with Mark Henry over the World Heavyweight Title was about as good as you are going to get in "making" somebody.

He lost clean to Henry at Night of Champions, as well as at Heck on a Deck. Both matches were great, and anybody still not believing in Henry's greatness sure did now. Much of that was thanks to Randy Orton!

From there, Orton would go on to put on some nice matches with Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett.

He rightfully beat Cody at Vengeance, just as he made the right move at Survivor Series a few weeks ago. Again, all the while putting on some wonderful matches inside the squared circle.

As we get closer to the end of the year, many fans will start looking back at discussing the "best" or "worst" parts of the past 12 months. For my money, there are no better performers than these two right now.

Orton as one of the top faces, with Henry as the dominant heel champion. Nothing can be better than that...nothing!
