Denver Broncos vs. Minnesota Vikings: Live Score, Video and Analysis

Nick McAndrewsDec 4, 2011

Final Score: Denver: 35, Minnesota: 32

In a Week 13 matchup in the NFL, the 6-5 Denver Broncos travel to the Twin Cities to take on the 2-9 Minnesota Vikings.

With the Broncos defense dominating on all fronts, Tim Tebow and the unique (from an NFL standpoint) Denver offense have been able to win five of their last six games. WR Eric Decker has added a nice dimension to Denver's offense and has really emerged as a solid receiver at the NFL level.

Decker, a Minnesota native, makes for just one interesting storyline this weekend. Seeing him on the Bronco sideline will be bittersweet for Minnesota's fans who watched him grow up as a college player in the very same Metrodome.

The real story of the game is the possibility for a rekindled rivalry between former Florida QB Tim Tebow and former Florida State QB Christian Ponder. An interesting wrinkle in this rivalry will be the fact that Percy Harvin will now be a weapon for Ponder instead of Tebow, but the presence of Eric Decker in a Bronco uniform will certainly even the score for fans.

Despite the difference in records, this game could go either way. The explosive ability from Harvin could be an equalizer for the Vikings—especially considering the chemistry that he an Ponder have established. However, with the lack of Adrian Peterson for yet another week and the addition of WR Michael Jenkins to Injured Reserve, it seems unlikely that the Vikings will be able to move the ball on this impressive Denver defense.

Popular opinion seems to be that the Denver offense will embarrass the Vikings, but Minnesota's defense matches up pretty well with this run-first team. The Vikings secondary has been decimated by injuries and is really catching a break against a pretty inaccurate QB. If the Vikings front-seven can continue to show up and play well, this game has the potential to be a great defensive matchup.
