Cotto vs Margarito Predictions: Cotto Will Get Revenge in Rematch

Miguel Cotto will avenge his controversial 2008 loss to Antonio Margarito by winning the rematch tonight.

Margarito won in the 11th round three years ago, but many believe he cheated by using loaded hand wraps. Cotto is convinced that the fight was a fluke and isn't shy about his hatred for Margarito.

At the final news conference for the fight, Cotto had some harsh words for Margarito.

"You are like a child. You are an embarrassment to boxing. I'm going to slap you like a little girl," Cotto said.

Cotto continued, saying Margarito is not a man and that his dog, Rex, is more of person than he is.

The sting of losing in 2008 has clearly festered in Cotto and I'm expecting him to unload some accumulated rage all over Margarito's face.

Margarito has the longer reach, but I think he will be too rusty. He hasn't fought in over a year after getting brutalized by Manny Pacquiao.

After that beatdown, Margarito had to get three surgeries on his right eye. The referee will be watching his eye very closely and will likely stop the fight if it gets swollen or bloody.

Cotto obviously knows this and will be attacking it with his vicious left hook. Margarito isn't a great defensive fighter, so Cotto should be able to get inside and inflict some punishment by the middle rounds.

This fight will be close like the first one, but I don't think it goes the full 12 rounds. I'm predicting Cotto to win by referee stoppage in Round 9.
