NFL Week 13 Picks: Denver Broncos and Underdogs That Will Pull off Upsets

Austin GreenDec 3, 2011

In the NFL, the cliche of "anybody can beat anybody" is as true as it is annoying.

I'm expecting these three underdogs to prove it by pulling off upsets in Week 13.

After what we've seen the last few weeks, I wouldn't be betting against Tim Tebow. And I sure as hell wouldn't do it when he's facing the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings are a measly 2-9 this season. They are riding a three-game losing streak. Their entire offense will be sitting on the sidelines this Sunday with a high ankle sprain. They are 1.5 point favorites.

Makes sense.

The Broncos defense has been great the last few weeks, holding the Chiefs, Jets and Chargers to 13 points or less. I'm expecting them to have similar success against the Vikings, who are averaging just 19.5 points per game.

Like most Denver games, it will be ugly and close, with some Tebow heroics thrown in late.

Prediction: Broncos 17, Vikings 10

Andy Dalton and the Bengals get another shot at division rival Pittsburgh, who they lost to in Week 10.

This time around, I'm expecting them to get the victory and move into a second-place tie with the Steelers in the AFC North.

Dalton and A.J. Green have been excellent in their rookie seasons, connecting 44 times for 745 yards and six touchdowns so far. With Troy Polamalu not at 100 percent, I think the two will take advantage of Pittsburgh's secondary.

Prediction: Bengals 27, Steelers 23

The Panthers are 2.5 point underdogs at Tampa Bay, but Cam Newton will shred that awful Bucs defense.

Tampa Bay is allowing 140 rushing yards per game (30th in NFL) and 255 passing yards per game (28th in NFL.)

Newton will add to his Offensive Rookie of the Year resume by dominating Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Prediction: Panthers 31, Buccaneers 20
