Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale: Michael Bisping Is UFC's Most Hated Man

Jeffrey McKinneyDec 3, 2011

Although Anderson Silva is the UFC middleweight champion, earlier in the year, Michael Bisping was the most targeted man in the division.

Bisping had a heated war of words with Jorge Rivera heading up to their bout at UFC 127.

During the fight, Bisping hit Rivera with an "unintentional" knee to the head while Rivera was down.   Although it cost Bisping a point, it wouldn't matter as he finished Rivera off by TKO in the second round.

While Bisping could have been humble after the win, he talked more trash to Rivera and spit on his corner.

The post-fight actions got Bisping fined by the UFC and called out by some of the division's top fighters, including Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

This is not the first time Bisping has antagonized fighters.

As a coach on season nine of "The Ultimate Fighter," Bisping antagonized opposing coach Dan Henderson and some of Henderson's fighters.

The fact that teams were split up between US fighters and UK fighters did not help Bisping's case with American fans.

Although this season of TUF was not a battle of two countries, Bisping still had plenty of moments where he annoyed opposing coach Jason "Mayhem" Miller

At yesterday's weigh-ins, Bisping had a string of bad luck on the scale.

On this season of TUF, Bisping said the older he gets, the more weight he has to cut.  It proved to be an issue yesterday as he had to use the extra time to make weight.

Bisping was visibly upset afterward.

After getting in Miller's face, Bisping cursed out the crowd and flipped them the bird.  Whether he truly didn't care about the fans, or was just fed up about the weight, Bisping has to learn to keep his composure.

There have been many hated fighters in MMA.  This year alone, Chael Sonnen, Nick Diaz, Nate Marquardt and even light heavyweight champ Jon Jones gave fans many reasons to hate them.

In Bisping's case, though, he's hated by just about everybody—fans and fighters alike.

Bisping has the immaturity of Diaz, the mouth of Sonnen and the arrogance that many believe Jones carries around.

Like Marquardt, Bisping is a great fighter who always seems to drop the ball when he's close to a title shot.

Bisping may be the perfect heel character in the UFC.

Many fighters and fans alike want to get a piece of the Brit.  Miller will have his chance tonight.
