Wisconsin vs. Michigan State: Live Scores, Highlights and Analysis
FINAL Wisconsin 42 Michigan State 39 Wisconsin wins Big Ten Championship.
Welcome to the first ever Big Ten Football Championship game, live from the home of the NCAA, Indianapolis, IN.
Tonight’s game features the Big Ten Leaders Champion, the No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers, taking on the Big Ten Legends Champion, the No. 13 Michigan State Spartans. Earlier this year, Michigan State won in a heart-stopping game, 37-31.
The final play saw Michigan State’s quarterback, Kirk Cousins, fire a Hail Mary pass that was caught at the two-yard line. Then dragged barley over the goal line into the end zone.
In that loss, Michigan State’s Cousins dominated the Wisconsin defense, throwing for 290 yards, with three touchdowns on 22 completions of 31 passes. While Cousins dominated, Wisconsin’s quarterback Russell Wilson struggled. Wilson had a good game of 223 yards, with two touchdowns on 14 completions on 21 passes. However, Wilson also had two interceptions in the game.
For the year, Wilson had three total interceptions. If Wilson did not play Michigan State, he would have finished the year with an insane 26 touchdowns to one interception.
Since their game, these two teams have went on to finish their seasons at 4-1. They both come into this game with a Top 10 defense. As Wisconsin has the edge at No. 4 in points allowed per game at 15.2, compared to Michigan State at No. 6 allowing 15.4.
Tonight, Wisconsin looks to extract revenge over Michigan State for that loss in East Lansing. We will see two teams that put on an amazing show on October 22nd.
Will we see a replay of that final Hail Mary pass, with Cousin’s ending his college career in the Rose Bowl? Or will we see Wisconsin’s Montee Ball rush for 150 yards and three touchdowns, sending this Wisconsin team to a second consecutive Rose Bowl?
Either way, tonight’s Big Ten Championship game will be a great matchup between two phenomenal teams.
