WWE Opinion: Wade Barrett Better off Having His Big Push Delayed Until Now
Just a year ago, Wade Barrett was part of one of the most intriguing WWE factions since Evolution when he lead the Nexus. Now he is receiving the big push many fans expected he would have received at the end of the group's storyline.
Barrett has been taking down all comers lately, most recently getting the better of the face of Friday Night Smackdown! in Randy Orton.
The Englishman deserves to have the rocket strapped to his back now after he's had time to develop his character as well as his in-ring ability. People forget the fact that though he's been on television almost weekly for the last calendar year, he isn't too far removed from being Chris Jericho's apprentice on NXT.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Now that the former Nexus and Corre leader has had time to learn the ropes of how things are done in the big leagues and had time to further mature his smug heal character, I think now is the perfect time to launch him into the elite tier on Smackdown that has been thoroughly depleted with Edge's retirement and Christian's ankle injury.
Friday nights need someone besides Mark Henry, Big Show and Randy Orton to carry the torch every episode, and Barrett is the perfect candidate to join the upper echelon. He can cut a promo with the best of them, he's a natural on the mic and when he joins the commentary team and he has great in-ring ability (though, I've never been a big fan of his finisher).
If the WWE writers tried to make the Manchester, England native a main event guy right away like they did with Sheamus, I think it wouldn't have gone over well, because you could tell that Barrett was still trying to get used to his surroundings and the other wrestlers he was competing with.
Now is the perfect time for the so-called "Barrett Barrage" to begin, and hopefully for fans and the WWE creative team, their rising star continues to shine with his recent opportunity.
