Baylor Basketball: Bears Could Make a Deep Run in 2012 NCAA Tournament
The Baylor Bears basketball program has taken off and is ranked No. 7 in the country. However, most people find them overrated when in reality they are underrated.
The Bears are 6-0, with all of their wins coming by double-digits. They have dominated the early part of their schedule and are poised to make a deep run come tourney time.
The Bears have the most impressive frontcourt in the nation. With Perry Jones III and the two Quincys (Acy and Miller), they can top any program in the country, including the North Carolina Tar Heels, with their bigs.

The question for the Bears coming into the season was whether or not they could get the ball inside to their bigs. Guards A.J. Walton and Pierre Jackson are both averaging just short of five assists per game each, and they are getting the ball to their three big men.
The Bears did not have Jones for the first five games of the season due to a suspension, but in his first game back he dropped 27 points.
The Quincys held down the fort until he was back, combining for 26.9 points per game this season. Adding in Jones, who is clearly their best player, will make them even stronger.
The Bears have yet to play with all three big men this season, yet when they are all playing during the NCAA tournament, the Bears will be ready to make a deep run to the Final Four and beyond in the tournament.
It is next to impossible to beat this team inside and a team is forced to make just about all of their long shots if they want to beat them. Because of that and the ability of every member of the Bears to run the floor well, they can outplay their opponents in just about every game this season.
Baylor will find a way to secure a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the tournament. They are clearly the best team in the Big 12, with only two teams even close to them: the Missouri Tigers and Kansas Jayhawks. Once they win the conference outright they will be able to win the conference tournament, too.
This will allow them to grab a top seed and cruise through the early parts of the tourney. I firmly believe that this team could win it all this season because they can play inside with the best teams in the country like UNC, Connecticut and Syracuse. They can also run the floor to keep up with Kentucky.
This is Baylor's time in the spotlight, and if two of their three big men stay next year, adding center Isaiah Austin will keep them elite.
