Week 13 Waiver Wire: 3 Players Worth Passing Up

Chris TrapassoDec 2, 2011

While Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu is a great addition for Week 13, there are a few waiver-wire possibilities you need to stay away from.

You might be desperate with the multitude of injuries we've seen over the last few weeks, especially at the quarterback position.

Maybe you're just looking for some new blood in your lineup because your supposed "fantasy studs" aren't living up to their potential in this critical time in the world of fantasy football.

Whatever your reason is to scour the waiver wire, these are guys you must stay away from.

Caleb Hanie

1 of 3

The Bears didn't make a waiver claim on Donovan McNabb, so it looks like they're ready to play the final games with Caleb Hanie as their starter.

Usually a guy in a starting position is enough basis to pick him up, but this week, against the Chiefs, let someone else make the mistake of adding him.

Kansas City stymied the Pittsburgh Steelers' explosive downfield passing attack and I don't trust Hanie's decision-making just yet.

He tossed three interceptions against the Raiders and could be in for another rather rough outing in Week 13.

Anthony Armstrong

2 of 3

You are most likely not going to make a waiver claim on Armstrong, but for those of you that got a little excited about his 50-yard touchdown catch, don't be.

He hadn't caught a pass in the last four games for the Redskins and faces a stingy Jets secondary on Sunday.

It's really that simple.

Stay away.

Beanie Wells

3 of 3

Wells looked like he was back at Ohio State last Sunday, running for 228 yards against the Rams.

Remember, St. Louis has had the worst run defense in the NFL for basically the entire 2011 season.

Rob Ryan's defensive front is a bit more stout, right?

The Cowboys currently boast the 10th-best rushing defense in football and are surrounding a shade over 100 yards on the ground per game.

In Week 14, he faces the 49ers' top-ranked run defense.

You'd be foolish to add him.
