Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns: Spread Info, Line and Predictions

Michael DixonDec 2, 2011

Two fierce AFC North rivals will square off on Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens go on the road to take on the Cleveland Browns.

The Ravens are 8-3 and tied with the Steelers for the AFC North lead. They hold the tiebreaker over Pittsburgh, having beaten them twice. The Ravens are also tied with Patriots and Texans for the best record in the AFC.

The Browns are nothing more than a spoiler at this point. They sit at 4-7, at the bottom of the AFC North.

The Ravens swept the season series against the Browns in 2010. This will be their first of two meetings in 2011.

Where: Cleveland Browns Stadium. Cleveland, Ohio.

When: Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4:05 p.m. EST

Watch: CBS

Spread

Ravens (-7), according to Bodog.

The only fear here is a letdown, which we've seen from the Ravens this year. Objectively, there is no way they shouldn't win and cover here.

Over/Under

38, according to Bodog.

Go under here. That's not a big number, but neither offense is particularly strong, and both defenses are strong.

Key Injuries

Ravens' CB Chris Carr is out.

Ravens' LB Ray Lewis is questionable.

Ravens' RB Anthony Allen, LB Daniel Ellerbe and DT Arthur Jones are probable.

Browns' LB Quinton Spears, DB T.J. Ward are out.

Browns' DB Mike Adams, RB Montario Hardesty, DL Jayme Mitchell, OL Tony Pashos and DB Dimitri Patterson are questionable.

Browns' RB Peyton Hillis, QB Colt McCoy, LB LB Kaluka Maiava, FB Owen Marecic and DL Scott Paxson are probable.

Fantasy Big Plays

As always, the Baltimore defense is a good play.

If you're in a crunch, the Browns' defense is also a good play. Baltimore's offense isn't exactly an explosive unit and the Browns do have a good defense.

Torrey Smith will have a tough matchup, but he's playing very well this year. At this point of the year, you would have to have a loaded group of receivers to bench him.

Keys to Ravens' Win

This one is pretty easy. They're the better team here. If Joe Flacco plays a good game and makes a few key passes, they will win.

The Ravens' problem all year has been letting down after a big win. All three of their losses have been on the road, against an inferior opponent the week after a big win. This one fits every category. They just can't take Cleveland lightly.

Keys to Browns' Win

Find a way to get Josh Cribbs involved in the action. He's their best big play threat. They can't rely on a consistent ground attack against the Ravens, they will need big plays.

Prediction: Ravens 24, Browns 10

The Ravens are a strong team this year. Frankly, 10 points may be too optimistic. Cleveland's offense is bad and the Baltimore defense is still one of the best in the game.
