Fantasy Football Week 13: 3 Bold Predictions for Sunday's Games

Chris TrapassoDec 2, 2011

Week 13 of the 2011 NFL season has it all.

As we've come to know this fall, professional football is extremely unpredictable, but if you ask me, we've got the following this weekend: a few games that should be blowouts, two legitimate chances for shootouts, a defensive battle and a handful of showdowns with legitimate playoff implications.

Here are three bold predictions for an intriguing Week 13.

Tim Tebow Will Throw for More Than 200 Yards Against the Vikings

1 of 3

The Denver Tebows are facing a stout Vikings' run defense that's allowing fewer than 100 yards a game, and you better believe they'll be ready to face the Broncos' spread-option rushing attack.

However the Vikings have one of the worst secondaries in football.

Will John Fox allow Tim Tebow to throw it more than 15 times?

I think so.

Because the Broncos won't be able to establish the run, they'll be forced to throw it. Tebow has improved in each of his starts this season as a passer.

Eric Decker should be able to get free down the field on more than one occasion, and don't be surprised to see a good deal of successful screen plays.

It won't be a Brady-esque performance, but the most polarizing quarterback in the league should eclipse the 200-yard plateau.

Rex Grossman Will Outplay Mark Sanchez

2 of 3

I'll admit, I was a little hesitant writing that, but I'm going with it.

The Redskins have registered 33 sacks this season, and DeAngelo Hall is an extremely tough matchup for Santonio Holmes.

If Washington can get to Mark Sanchez frequently, he'll lose confidence and make hurried, ill-advised throws.

For Grossman, he's playing free. What does he have to lose?

He's got Santana Moss back, and Fred Davis has emerged as a reliable target over the middle.

I'm not putting a statistical prediction on this one, but at the end of this game you'll know that Grossman played the better game.

Baltimore Will Beat the Browns by 7 or Less

3 of 3

It doesn't look like Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis will play in this one, and that's obviously a huge plus for the Browns' anemic offense.

While I don't expect Colt McCoy to outplay Joe Flacco, Baltimore's quarterback isn't going to have it easy against Joe Haden and the top-ranked pass defense in football.

Ray Rice should have a productive game, but am I the only one that doesn't trust Flacco is a game just like this one, against a team they should beat?

It'll be a low-scoring affair and the Ravens will ultimately win this one with a big play on defense.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Cleveland pulls off the upset.
