David Hawthorne Video: Watch Seahawks LB End Eagles' Season

Gabe ZaldivarDec 1, 2011

And just like that, it was gone.

The Eagles have been teetering on extinction for weeks now. Every single loss has been one more nail in a very large coffin. Yet we were all to believe that the season, if it were indeed going to die, would do so in a lackluster and sleepy manner.

Instead, we were given a defining moment. A season that was supposed to be magical was instead memorable, but not in a glorious way.

So how did the Eagles go out? Well, they went out with a bang, as Vince Young threw one of his four interceptions on the game to the Seahawks' David Hawthorne

Hawthorne picked off what has to be the most awful decision of the night. There was absolutely no reason that Young should have thrown that ball, unless of course, his eyes were closed. Then, I would understand.

The beautiful part is that the troubles that haunted this team begins and ends with Mr. Vince Young. Of course, there are other issues like rushing defense and injuries to consider, but Young typifies what was wrong with the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles

He self-glossed this team the Dream Team. That was all the media needed to heap tons of pressure and unwarranted criticism on this team.

The game was nearly well in hand for Seattle, as Hawthorne ran this touchdown back for six, but it had to sock any amount of wind this team had for the remaining season.

If there was hope in the locker room, it left the hands of Young and was taken the other way by David Hawthorne. The season is now very much over for the Philadelphia Eagles.
