WWE Opinion: How Sheamus Can Be Bigger Than Randy Orton
December is here!
Which means we are only a few weeks away from the Holiday season, but more importantly, the end of "MOVEMBER" and its hideous mustaches.
I know it was for a good cause and all but it's over now...shave!
Speaking of men and facial hair, have you noticed the rocket ride our boy Sheamus has been on lately?
He has proven to be quite the hot babyface over the last few months and it seems like this time around, the WWE has found the right thing to fit with the Celtic Warrior.
For the longest while, Friday Nights has but one "good guy" and his name was Randy Orton. Some love him but others find his character to be stale, monotonous and over-pushed. Someone else needed to come into being.
The choice of Sheamus was a great move. The man has great potential and it is only a matter of time before the ball is thrown into his court again for another run at the top.
Will he be able to surpass The Viper?
Market This Mug
1 of 6Could cuddly dolls be in the future of the Celtic Warrior?
His is a unique look. Sheamus is the great white predator the dark forces should fear. Being a hothead can be used to someone's advantage and if marketed right and built strong, who would stand in his way?
There were some who said he was Batista's replacement...I fail to see that honestly. The Animal had nothing original to his character and his being or not being in WWE makes absolutely no difference. Quickly expendable!
Fortunately, Sheamus' case is quite different. He has something special and it's not like we see someone like him come along every day.
Let see where WWE can go with this guy. His t-shirts are already cool.
A Serious Run as Champion
2 of 6Sheamus is already a two-time WWE Champion. He achieved this within his first year with the company and also managed to claim the King of the Ring crown along with the United States championship. Not bad at all so far.
The problem with all that was, he never held those titles for very long. It just didn't sink in at the time because it was thrust upon the fans way too quickly with no follow up.
What could have been a strong, fearless champion ended up being just another cowardly heel who ran away or lost matches by disqualifications and count-outs.
Not a great way to get over.
This next time has to be different. If he is to regain the World title he must mark the moment in a powerful and brave manner. Winning the fans over is not always an easy task but Sheamus can do it and he would be a great babyface WWE or World Heavyweight Champion.
Be Yourself Sheamus
3 of 6When the Muppets invaded RAW a few weeks back, there didn't seem to be much to cheer. The string of guest host had been quite lackluster since the concept began and bringing in the legendary puppets didn't feel like the right way to go.
It was!
Miss Piggy versus Vickie Guerrero was great and we got a taste of things to come when Sheamus stepped in and saved his cousin Beaker from Christian. He showed the WWE and its fans just a little bit of his funny side.
Randy Orton doesn't laugh, barely smiles and shows no emotion. One can only take so much of that it seems. Sheamus has the accent, the pale skin and the spiky red hair. He has shown everyone a side we hardly could expect a year ago and it will pay off big.
Celtic Warrior...please remain funny and hilarious as you put people through tables. We like that.
Take on the Greats and Win
4 of 6Whe he first came along, Sheamus destroyed everyone from Jamie Noble to Jerry Lawler. He was one of the survivors of his team along with Drew McIntyre and The Miz and battle Triple H at WrestleMania 26.
Then the slump came. Weak title reigns, a losing streak and the KOTR...forgotten.
Now, the Celtic Warrior is one of the good guys and ready to step into the next chapter of his career. There should be all sorts of comers and defeating them is priority one.
It was unfortunate the feud with Triple H ended prematurely in order for The Game to enter his program with Undertaker. It would have been good. There are only a few legends left that could help elevate Sheamus.
The Great White should be given high-profile feuds with important guys and outshine them or at least stand toe to toe with them. The new Kane perhaps, Undertaker, Kevin Nash...doesn't matter just give him someone with a big name.
You Must Face Randy Orton Again
5 of 6The two top faces of the show will have to battle it out once more to prove to everyone there can be only one.
It will all be done for storyline purposes of course as Orton does have to prove anything to us really. He is already up there with the top guys. Sheamus would be over as would the Viper and they should give us a match the could rival those of Punk-Cena let say.
We know you can do it. It is a matter of time.
Babyface taking on babyface happens enough times and so it is easy to pull off. There are plenty of Pay Per Views a year to fit this in and it would probably boost the ratings of some of the less glamorous ones.
All Hail the New Face of SmackDown?
6 of 6Is he the future of Friday Nights?
You never know what to expect with this great character and it is only the beginning. Sheamus has all the attributes he needs to be a big star in WWE. Where there is a will there is a way they say, this guy definitely has the will.
Sheamus will become a force to fear. Strong and powerful yet beloved by millions.
