NFL Week 13 Picks: Tim Tebow and Broncos Will Keep Rolling vs. Vikings

Zachary D. RymerDec 2, 2011

How long can Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos keep this up?

It's a question that we're all asking, and no doubt many of us think they can keep rolling right along. At the same time, you also have to doubt whether or not this hot streak is for real.

We won't know that for sure until a superior team comes along and hands the Broncos a reality check. On the bright side, that reality check will not be coming on Sunday when the Broncos take on the 2-9 Minnesota Vikings.

Despite the fact they've won four games in a row, the Broncos are actually underdogs in this matchup. The spread, according to Sportsbook, has the Vikings favored by two points.

This isn't the first time the Broncos have been an underdog this season, and it won't be the last. As it is, I think they're an easy upset pick.

I think the absolute biggest factor in this game is the health of Adrian Peterson. Per the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, it's looking like Peterson is going to be a game-time decision with a high ankle sprain. He insists that he doesn't need to be 100 percent in order to play. If he does play, it's safe to say that he won't be at 100 percent.

If Peterson can't go, I think the Broncos have a considerable advantage. Their defense has been playing outstanding recently, and it should be able to play just fine against a Peterson-less Vikings offense.

This will be the case even if rookie sensation Von Miller can't play. He had surgery on his thumb this week, and his status, according to the Denver Post, is iffy. The Broncos will feel his loss, but it wouldn't be a crippling blow.

Regardless, I don't think you're going to see the Vikings' offense explode against the Broncos' defense, and I don't think you're going to see the Broncos' offense explode against the Vikings' defense. As has been the case with all of Denver's recent games, this one's going to be close, and it's going to be messy.

And ultimately, the game is going to be in Tebow's hands.

It's not as happy a prospect as the hype would have you believe. Generally speaking, Tebow is still horribly inaccurate with his passes, and his running can be stopped. They say all Tebow does is win, but the fact of the matter is that he gets a lot of help.

But you know what? That's okay. Tebow is going to get enough help in this game, and he's going to do just enough to keep the Vikings at bay. There's a reason they're 2-9, and it's that they're just not a very good team.

Expect the Broncos to win this one.
