Week 13 Fantasy Football Projections: Tim Tebow and QBs Sure to Impress

Nicholas GossDec 4, 2011

Tim Tebow has rewarded fantasy football owners this season with his running ability and touchdowns, and he will again impress for the Denver Broncos against the Minnesota Vikings.

Tebow is one of several quarterbacks with good matchups who are sure to have a big day in Week 13. At this stage of the fantasy season, you cannot afford to make the wrong mistakes on who to start and who to sit on your team.

Let's look at three quarterbacks who will dominate this week.

1. Carson Palmer

Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer has improved with each game this season since coming back to football a few weeks ago, and he will dominate the 3-7 Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Palmer has thrown three touchdown passes with two interceptions in the last three games, and against the Dolphins, he has a favorable matchup.

Miami allows 248.1 passing yards per game this season and do not have any elite players in the secondary.

In a game that the Raiders cannot afford to lose, Palmer will use his speedy wide receivers to his advantage on Sunday and perform well for your fantasy team.

2. Cam Newton

Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Cam Newton has played well this season and has a very favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bucs allow 254.8 passing yards per game and have trouble getting to the quarterback. They have only 17 sacks on the season, which is third-worst in football.

Newton has 14 interceptions this season and 12 touchdowns, but against a Tampa Bay defense that won't force him to make quick decisions because of the pocket collapsing, the Carolina quarterback will have enough time to find the open receiver.

3. Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow doesn't dominate the stat sheet every week, but he finds a way to win, and that's all you can really ask for in a quarterback.

Tebow plays the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13—a team that has struggled against the pass this season.

The Vikings have intercepted only six passes this season, tied for second worst in the NFL. They also allow 258.2 passing yards per game, and with Tebow having some quality receivers at his disposal, the Denver quarterback could have a big game on Sunday.

The Vikings allow 26.8 points per game, and against a red hot Tebow, they will have their hands full trying to defend a quarterback who can run and pass effectively.
