Cotto vs Margarito 2: Cotto Will Prove First Fight with Margarito Was a Sham

Antonio Margarito's cheating incident against Shane Mosley back in 2009 has people wondering whether he used similar tactics to taint his wraps against Miguel Cotto the first time the two squared off in 2008.

When the two square off in their highly anticipated rematch, Cotto will leave no doubt the first fight was a sham.

Are we to believe Margarito's cheating scandal was an isolated incident? He got the better of Cotto in the epic brawl that helped set the scene for this fight, but Margarito doesn't deserve to be given the benefit of the doubt.

His reputation will be forever tainted, and after Cotto proves Margarito can't hang with him in a fair fight, it's only going to raise more questions about the legitimacy of Margarito's career.

With a level playing field, Cotto has a distinct advantage. Attacking Maragrito's eye that had this fight in limbo for some time will allow Cotto to put this fight away quickly.

Margarito has a shot at redemption here, but he's at a disadvantage and won't be able to hang now that everyone is on to his cheating ways.

The brutal punches he was able to land on Cotto in the first fight are going to have significantly less power if he did in fact come into that fight with plaster of Paris wraps.
