EPL: 10 of the Funniest Moments in League History

From Kevin Keegan to Mario Balotelli, the Premier League has had some hilarious moments in its history.

This is merely a collection of 10 of the best moments I can remember, but I am sure there are hundreds more.

Kevin Keegan Loves It

The classic funny Premier League moment.

Kevin Keegan, then the manager of Newcastle United, took exception to comments made by Sir Alex Ferguson about the way opponents played harder against his Manchester United side.

Keegan's rant in his post-match interview is now one of the most loved moments in Premier League history.

I love it. Love it.

Steven Gerrard's Schoolboy Error

A Chelsea mascot humbles Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard in the tunnel before a crucial Premier League game.

The cheeky little lad leans in for the handshake, denies Gerrard and then sends in a little wink.

You've got to believe that the boy's dad had to have a word with him to put him up to it and even if he came up with it himself, it is comedy gold.

Gerrard is no stranger to embarrassment as his interview slip is another classic Premier League moment.

34 Seconds of Savage

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Thirty-four seconds of footage of Robbie Savage getting his comeuppance in a variety of collisions and clashes—with that classic referee punch thrown in for good measure.

There really are few things in the footballing world better than seeing Robbie Savage hit in the face and drop like a sack of spuds.

Riise's Fake Gum

Anfield benchwarmers Steven Warnock and John Arne Riise must have gotten bored of the dugout during their years with the Reds.

Here, Warnock and co. trick the unwitting Norwegian with an empty gum wrapper.

I love how much Warnock laughs!

The Genius of Jimmy Bullard

Jimmy Bullard is perhaps the funniest player in Premier League history.

From his team-talk celebration against Manchester City to his leap-frog against Everton, Bullard is a firm favourite with all Premier League fans.

My personal favourite is his filming for the Sky Sports turnaround.

Classic Bullard.

Sir Alex and the Balloon

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is so engrossed in the game that he doesn't see assistant Mike Phelan pick up a balloon and pop it.

Ferguson's swearing reaction is great.

Phelan should have been more careful, Feguson is no spring chicken and a shock like that could have had disastrous affects.

Di Canio and the Referee

Another classic Premier League moment as Sheffield Wednesday's Paolo di Canio pushes over referee Paul Alcock following his sending off.

Di Canio got an 11-match ban for his push and was fined £10,000, but this has gone into the history books as one of the Premier League's funniest moments.

The referee stumbles have been re-created on playing fields across the world.

Everyone likes to see a referee humiliated.

David Dunn's Epic Fail

The Birmingham City-Aston Villa derby is one of the biggest in the Premier League, and here Birmingham midfielder David Dunn does his best to upstage the occasion.

Ronaldo he is not.

Henry with a Classic

A couple of European favourites now, as Arsenal legend Thierry Henry tricks an Ajax mascot with the classic shoulder tap.

Henry had a few funny moments actually, his and Pires' dumb penalty and his interview help with a young Cesc Fabregas.

Balotelli's Bib

The current king of Premier League hilarity is the one and only Mario Balotelli.

His funniest moment, however, was his bib confusion in the Europa League.

Try and ignore the idiotic Savage commentary, his Bib-otelli pun is painful but Mario's hilarious confusion more than makes up for that.
