NFL Picks Week 13: Road Teams Sure to Disappoint Home Fans

Michael DixonNov 30, 2011

At this time of the year, home-field advantage makes a big difference. Teams made for warm weather or domes now have to face the possibility of playing against the elements.

Still, for one reason or another, it won't matter for these teams.

Now, these aren't the only road teams that I am predicting a win for, but the others all present a little too much uncertainty. These road teams are in far more favorable matchups.

The Raiders are heating up. Along with the Broncos they are making what was once a wide open AFC West race far more predictable.

It wasn't that long ago that the Dolphins were rivaling the Colts for the No. 1 pick. Now, they have won three of their last four games and look like a reasonable team. Still, I am not expecting them to have the firepower to stick with the Raiders.

As Carson Palmer has grown accustomed to his team's strategy, the Raiders have looked stronger offensively. Defensively, they're not perfect, but have the right amount of aggression to put this game away.

Prediction: Raiders 27, Dolphins 16

The Cowboys are on a good run while the Cardinals have picked up their play a little, winning three of their last four games. Still, even at home, this is a bad game for them.

Dallas is now well on their way to a division title. The Cardinals just don't have a good enough team to play four quarters against them.

The game will be good for a while, but the Cowboys will put it over by the time the final minutes roll around.

Prediction: Cowboys 34, Cardinals 20

This is the top team in the NFL. When the reigning Super Bowl champions are 11-0, they deserve the right to be heavily favored in all games. When they're facing a team on a three-game losing streak, that point is even more amplified.

Look at what happened on Monday Night to the Giants. Drew Brees and the moved the ball at will. The Packers' offense is every bit as good as the Saints', and their defense is much better.

This one has blowout written all over it.

Prediction: Packers 40, Giants 17
