WWE SmackDown Results: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Justin WatryNov 29, 2011

This week's WWE SmackDown was a fun show. It was exactly what I expected it to be and then some! The Blue Brand had a good showing, and I loved the past two hours.

The Good

I really liked the opening segment. Mick Foley loves Christmas almost as much as I do, so it was cool to see him show some passion over a holiday. Cole and Matthews being dressed up was worth a laugh.

I liked the Booker T and Cody Rhodes interaction, but the five time former WCW Champion needs to stay looking like a performer. The Santa suit was not needed. Other than that minor complaint, I liked the next chapter in this feud, seemingly over the Intercontinental title.

The diva's match was fine. It was short, but it did its job in entertaining me. That is all I ask for. I am curious as to what Brie Bella will do with her prize...

The backstage segments at the "party" were hilarious. Goldust showed up. Dusty Rhodes was there. Even my man Hornswoggle was great in his role. Major props to the ending bit with Santa, as it was a nice moment for young fans all over the world!

Randy Orton vs. David Otunga was a good street fight. Mr. Attorney at Raw is a very underrated talent in the company, and Mr. RKO just can't be any better right now. Good job to both men, and I even liked Wade Barrett getting involved.

I loved the battle royal! It got a lot of stars some face time, and it put some shine on two men: Sheamus and Hornswoggle. They are two of my favorites, so I had to enjoy this.

Sheamus "put over" Hornswoggle, and it was great to see. Sheamus loses nothing from this, as it will be forgotten by next week. Hornswoggle gains a lot from this win. He now has a voice and is back in the spotlight again! I loved it...

The Bad

Justin Gabriel vs. Jinder Mahal was a fine match. I just didn't care. Ted DiBiase interfered, and I still did not care. All three men have a bright future in this business, but they are not clicking right now. Sorry, just my opinion!

The Ugly

Kofi Kingston beat Tyson Kidd in a short match, and it also did nothing for me. The distraction involving Michael Cole was not needed, and it really took away from the match. I did like Kofi getting a victory because Evan Bourne will be returning soon, and Air Boom needs to get back on the right track as soon as possible.

Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan was the main event of the evening. Of course, it was a steel cage match for the World Heavyweight title, and I loved everything leading up to the match. Mark Henry is the best man on WWE TV, and Bryan has a ton of potential.

Sadly, this match just should have never taken place. Everything about the past month has not sat well with me, and it was the same tonight. Big Show gets a title match at WWE TLC next month, and this entire mess is going on?

Good match, but Bryan has been "booked" horribly the past couple of weeks. Mark Henry is NEVER, ever losing his World title!
