WWE Raw Results: Top 10 Moments from Last Night's Show

Justin WatryNov 29, 2011

WWE Raw was a good show last night. It was not as good the Muppets episode, but it was still a very nice two-hour program.

Of course, it was far from perfect, but that can be overlooked. The positive parts of the show more than outweighed the bad. With that being said, I would give this show a "B" grade. Here are my top moments from last night.

10. Second 2012

1 of 10

Another video.

Another week of people trying to look into clues that really mean nothing anyway. The prime suspects to return to WWE are Undertaker, Chris Jericho and Batista. I could tell you that with or without watching any more videos...

Great "second" video, though.

9. Kane Promo

2 of 10

WWE also teased the return of Kane, and it's another nice production!

I said it last week, and I will repeat it again this week. I really do not care if he has the mask back on or not. You can't relive the "Attitude Era" and pretend you never saw his face before or heard him speak, so putting the mask back on does nothing.

He can return as a face or as a heel, and it won't matter. He is a future WWE Hall of Famer returning for one (maybe) more run with the company.

8. No Nash or HHH

3 of 10

Where was Kevin Nash? Where was Triple H?

I understand wanting to take this story slow, but it was completely ignored on WWE Raw. That was not OK in my book. Would it have really hurt to show a 30-second recap video or even have Nash cut another great heel promo?

Big disappointment.

7. Alicia Fox Wins

4 of 10

Alicia Fox is a great talent. Over the weekend, I wrote that she should be the next in line to challenge Beth Phoenix for the Divas title. It looks like I may be getting my wish.

Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox defeated the Bella Twins in a fun tag team match. It was short, but Ms. Fox shined the most. What an amazing talent.

6. Zack Ryder Back on Track

5 of 10

Last week, he (rightfully) got squashed by Alberto Del Rio. This week, Zack Ryder picked up a nice win over Jack Swagger.

Outside of the awkward ending, this was a fine match. It was nothing special, but both men looked great, and the right man went over. It is time for Ryder to start getting involved with the United States title again, because his entire "petition for a title shot" has been pushed to the side two weeks in a row now.

5. Daniel Bryan Is a Hypocrite

6 of 10

Watch that five minute video posted...go ahead. I will give you a couple minutes.

You wanna know my entire problem with Daniel Bryan's "booking" the past month? That promo he cut back in July is my problem!

He swore he wouldn't cash in on a weakened opponent. He promised to wait until WrestleMania. Guess what? Michael Cole said he wouldn't. Cole said he would cash in on a vulnerable champion. Cole said it months ago, and guess who looks good right now?

Michael Cole of all people! He was right. Bryan went back on his word, cashed in early and looks terrible right now. I am not sure what the point of the entire segment on Raw was, but Bryan does not look like a good baby face right now. Not one bit!

He admitted to being a hypocrite. He even kicked an injured Mark Henry before walking to the back. Again, if this is not a heel turn for Bryan, I have no idea what WWE is doing here.

As usual, Mark Henry was amazing and really set the tone for tonight's huge Smackdown episode. That steel cage main event is going to be awesome. Too bad Mark Henry is NEVER, ever losing his World title, or else there might actually be some suspense in tonight's big match.

4. Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton

7 of 10

This was great.

Dolph Ziggler beat Randy Orton. Wade Barrett was involved, and everything fell into place perfectly.

Add on yet another great match to Orton's 2011 resume, and you have the icing on the cake. My hat goes off to Orton on having a stellar year.

He has had amazing matches and lost when appropriate. I can't think of one complaint on Mr. RKO all year. From his series with Punk, to going to Smackdown, his amazing feud with Christian, to putting over many talents the past few months, to having quality matches each week; he is the one of the best in the business today.

3. Here We Are!

8 of 10

Remember all those articles I have done for the past four months predicting John Morrison would be leaving WWE soon?

Remember how nobody wanted to believe me? Yeah...

Well, I suggested he go to FCW to save his career in WWE. I even suggested a name change, a change of music, as well as an entire gimmick change. Too bad the more things change the more they stay the same, right?

Now it seems that The Miz sent him out the door last night on Raw, his next step is heading to DixieLand in Orlando. Yes, he is heading to TNA, as I wrote about long before reports hit online. He may speak of "outside projects" or acting, but let's be real.

I predict John Morrison and Melina will be in TNA sooner rather than later. I predicted this all would happen months ago. Nobody listened. Well, now here we are...

2. Cena and Piper Talk

9 of 10

I really have mixed feelings on this segment. Roddy Piper was great. John Cena was great.

However, I really did not see the point in this. To do what? Bait fans into predicting a "Cena heel turn" for the 65,867th time in the past year?

Sorry, I do not do "fantasy booking," and I have certainly never predicted such a ridiculous event. It just seems like it was thrown out there to mention the fans' reactions and leave it at that.

I think I would have liked this a lot more closer to Wrestle Mania (where he will be booed no matter what), instead of the end of November with no PPV match at WWE TLC even announced. I will take a wait-and-see approach with this storyline.

1. Main Event Match

10 of 10

CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio to retain the WWE title, but it was a lot more than that.

Both men worked well together. Ricardo did his part, and the ending sets up a few possibilities for the future. This was just a wonderful final 20 minutes of WWE Raw.

It had plenty of near falls for fans to buy into. It featured many great moments to get the crowd pumped up, and it delivered a nice finishing sequence. What more can you ask for?
