Tim Tebow: Why John Elway Won't Be Spotted Tebowing
Tim Tebow can’t catch a break.
Despite sporting a 4-1 record as the Denver Broncos starting quarterback in 2011, despite completely turning around a dormant franchise in the span of a month, despite giving fans a reason to care about their team for the first time since Mike Shanahan roamed the sidelines, he still can’t get the people in charge to convert.
John Elway, executive vice president of football operations and local legend, still refuses to call Tebow anything more than his starting QB “”right now."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Elway comes from the school of pocket-passers that scan the field, make quick reads, get rid of the ball in a timely matter…and completes over 50 percent of his passes.
Just listen to his comments on a local Denver radio station when asked the question: Any closer to feeling if you have your quarterback on this team?
""No. I think obviously [Tebow is] making progress week in and week out. When you look at our third down numbers, those have to improve. I mean, that’s the bottom line. We can’t go 3-for-13 [on third downs] and win a world championship. Those are the type of things we have to keep improving."

Everyone has a strong opinion on Tebow one way or another, but this is pretty rough to hear from the man that is in charge of your fate.
Elway clearly has a vision for who his starting QB should be, and it’s not a guy whose greatest weapon is his ability to run the ball in the red zone.
Tebow still has six more games to improve his throwing motion, footwork and ability to read the field…but it’s not going to happen.
The fate of Tebow lies in wins and losses. Elway can’t bail on him if he takes a 1-4 team and finishes with nine of 10 wins. Bronco Nation would be infuriated.
A team that has the patience for Tebow and is willing to build the team around him can succeed. It will be unconventional, but it can work.
Elway doesn’t want to try it. He wasn't the guy who drafted him in the first round. He wants Andrew Luck or Matt Barkley.
Tebow has six more games to prove him wrong.
