WWE Survivor Series 2011 Predictions and Preview for Tonight's Event
WWE Survivor Series 2011 has my purchase and the show is almost ready to begin! I am interested in a lot of these matches tonight. By the end of the night, I know the money will be well spent.
Coming off my perfect predictions for WWE Vengeance, I like tonight's card for Survivor Series. A few matches could go either way, while one match will be a squash. Let's get into it...
Ziggler vs. Morrison
1 of 6I really do not feel comfortable with Dolph Ziggler being in two matches. He did the same last month, and I did not like it. Yet, he is is booked to compete twice again. Anyways, this will go one of two ways:
1. If it is a simple one on one match as promoted, the entire New York crowd at Madison Square Garden will chant "We Want Ryder!" from the beginning to end. Thus, the squash will never get any heat, and it will be a waste of time.
2. Zack Ryder gets one last signature for his petition for his United States title match right before the opening bell. He gets inserted in the match, wins the US title and the "smarky" crowd gives him his first big "moment."
Winner (if one on one): Ziggler wins in five minutes
Winner (if Ryder is added last minute): Zack gets his first singles gold in a nice moment
Team Barrett vs. Team Orton
2 of 6Why is Dolph involved here? They have a dozen heels on the sideline. No reason for Ziggler to be in this match as a "forgotten" member on Team Barrett...
As for the match, I really like the men involved.
Wade Barrett is on a nice roll. Cody Rhodes is doing great things and I am still waiting for Hunico to impress me.
On the other side, Team Randy Orton just has too much big name talent. Sheamus? Sin Cara? I could see a few eliminations, but all of Team Orton to lose? No way.
Winners: Randy Orton and Sheamus survive (maybe even more)
Beth Phoenix vs. Eve
3 of 6The divas title is on the line here, but I do not expect it to change hands. Beth needs to ride with the gold for a few more months. Layla will be a great opponent, as will Kharma in a couple more months.
No need to rush anything! There will be Lumberjills around the ring, so I can see a ton of interference. Sadly, none of that will matter for Eve's chances of winning.
Winner: Beth retains in a good match
Del Rio vs. Punk
4 of 6The WWE Championship is on the line as Alberto Del Rio faces CM Punk in New York City Sunday night. I have said from the beginning that CM Punk will end this feud as WWE champion.
He will win the title eventually, but it won't happen at Survivor Series. This could end in a DQ/Countout ending for Del Rio to retain. This could end with Brodus Clay helping out his former pal keep the gold.
It could even have a classic "screwjob" with Johnny Ace getting involved. Either way, Punk will get the gold, just not at Survivor Series.
Winner: Alberto Del Rio leaves with the gold somehow
Mark Henry vs. Big Show
5 of 6These two had a good match at Money in the Bank.
These two had an even better match at Vengeance.
At Survivor Series, they will have yet another wonderful match. It is too bad the result is already set in stone (at least in my mind).
Winner: Mark Henry is NEVER ever losing the World title
John Cena/The Rock vs. Awesome Truth
6 of 6WWE has done a fine job building up this huge match, but I really think they missed the boat in advertising The Rock returning to the ring for the first time in over seven years! That is a major highlight, but it has been swept under the rug a little bit in favor of him teasing tension with John Cena.
Awesome Truth have been after thoughts by design, but that could work out in their favor. As we all know, The Miz was the "third wheel" at WrestleMania 27. Well, guess what? He picked up a huge win, and it will forever show in the record books that he defeated John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania.
With all the being said, what will happen Sunday night at Madison Square Garden?
Well, I expect Cena to be booed. I expect Rock to get cheered, before also getting some boos five minutes in. R-Truth and Mike "The Miz" Mizanin will get mixed reactions from the New York audience.
Match quality is not a concern. All four know what they are doing and the "heat" will be off the charts. Nobody will be paying too much attention the "MOVEZ!" anyways. How will the match end?
I could see Miz and Truth picking up a dirty win. It would not surprise me to see them gloat about it for the next 10 years (like Miz after WM 27), but I going to pick Cena and Rocky to win. There are a million options for WWE to go with here.
Cena could leave Rock all to himself. Rock could turn on Cena. Miz and Truth could lose, then Rock and Cena go after each other. The show could end with Rock/Cena shaking hands. Who knows?
Winners: John Cena and The Rock
