Survivor Series 2011: 7 Reasons This PPV Could Really Bomb

David LevinNov 19, 2011

I know it is one of the biggest draws of the year in terms of the WWE, but I am just not feeling it about this year's Survivor Series.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I am concerned that while other PPV events put on by the WWE this year have been great like SummerSlam and Money in the Bank, I am going to be left with an empty feeling inside afterward.

Who knows? Maybe that is mom's chicken and rice talking to me, but I have an uneasy feeling about this and I am not sure why.

Is it The Rock? Is it John Cena? Maybe I am expecting too much out of John Morrison. Maybe we will see something to really change the landscape of the company. But until then, I will just sit and wait for it to happen.

But I don't think it will.

Here are some reasons for all of us to consider.

7. The Buzz Is Not There

1 of 7

We have been touting a Rock/Cena WrestleMania for so long. The Rock decides to team with John Cena against Miz and R-Truth and to be honest, The Awesome Truth looks to be in better form.

I would almost say it looks like The Rock was talked into this. He did not seem all that interested, if you ask me.

6. Different Divas, Same Results

2 of 7

Each week, we see the same old thing. Eve, Kelly Kelly, Natalya and Beth Phoenix.

Oh, now throw Alicia Fox in the mix. But as the song goes, it's the same old song.

Now Eve challenges Beth Phoenix and it looks like the same angle with Kelly Kelly, only the diva is a brunette.

We need more out of this division. Lita? Michelle McCool? Anyone? Even with Lumberjill rules, this one does not excite me unless Kelly Kelly does something to her best friend.

5. There Is Wade Barrett, There Is Randy Orton and Then There Is...?

3 of 7

I like the idea of the traditional Survivor Series match, but there needs to be more.

But this match is more about Randy Orton and Wade Barrett and their climb back up the WWE title ladder.

Cody Rhodes should be defending his Intercontinental Title. He isn't, and that hurts the card. He and Sheamus should be in singles matches.

This is a good team for both sides, but there could be more to this match.

4. There Could Be a Kevin Nash Sighting

4 of 7

God, I hope not.

Nash is the most useless wrestler or wrestling figure right now.

Keep him away from the PPV, please.

If we cannot get more out of him than some bitching and complaining and then backstabbing, keep him out of this.

3. Daniel Bryan Could Be a World Champion Before the Night Is Through

5 of 7

I have thought about this and have come up with this scenario.

Big Show will win the World Title and then Daniel Bryan will turn on Big Show and take the title from him after a battered champion has been worn down by Mark Henry.

It makes more sense than you think, but still it makes you wonder.

Seriously?

2. The WWE Title Match Is an Afterthought

6 of 7

I know Rock and Cena together in a match is huge. But CM Punk continues to be pushed down the ladder rung by rung.

Two months ago, Punk owned the WWE and wrestling in general. And in came Kevin Nash and out went the success of the build-up like a balloon losing air.

Alberto Del Rio cannot be a viable member of the WWE now if he is not a champion.

And recently, the WWE Title looks like it lost its luster.

1. The Rock Has Won the Battle and Now Will Win the War

7 of 7

He upstaged John Cena, does better promo work and has more loyal fans.

Cena is the odd man out and when Rock leaves after Sunday night, Cena will still be left to pick up the pieces.

It is brilliant and when it is over, Cena will stew about it and turn heel at WrestleMania.
