WWE Smackdown Results: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
WWE Smackdown was a good show tonight. It did not excite me for Sunday's Survivor Series any more than Monday night did, but it was a fun two hours.
If I had to grade the program, I would put it in the C+ (maybe B-) range. With that being said, let's dive into the major moments from the Blue Brand this week!

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Everything with Mark Henry, The Big Show and Daniel Bryan was excellent. Mark Henry is still the best man on WWE TV. Big Show is playing his role perfectly and looked like a man ready to seek revenge.
I enjoyed Daniel Bryan this week. He was squashed like a bug and nowhere teased cashing in his briefcase. Just how I want it! He can come back in a few months, right before Wrestle Mania 28. I have no desire to see him involved with the World title picture right now.
Dolph Ziggler and Sin Cara had a nice match. It was nothing special, but it was a fun showcase for both guys. Cara can lose a match every now and then, so I had no problems with the finish.
Teddy Long and Aksana had another funny backstage segment. These two have such great chemistry, and I loved the "heart" line. We don't want another heart attack for Mr. Long, do we? Kudos to Hornswoggle for getting some air time as well!
Christian cut a short promo. He was his usual self, but it was good to see him appear. Injury or not, he is still great on the mic!
The divas had a good tag team match this week. Natalya and Beth Phoenix picked up a win over AJ and Kaitlyn. It was short, but it put over the heels before Sunday's big event.
Finally, I really enjoyed the main event this week. Randy Orton has had an amazing 2011, and he is showing no signs of slowing down. Sheamus is going to have a huge future with this company, and tonight he showed why.
On the other side, Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes continue to prove why they are legitimate main-event performers in the making. They are not ready yet but will be soon. Great job here!
The Bad
Ted DiBiase beat Derrick Bateman (with Maxine). I am sorry, but I still have no reason to care about Ted. He plays video games and hangs out with his "posse"? Okay, I am going to need more. Maxine was the best part about the match. She looked great tonight!
Hunico is another guy I do not care about right now. His match with Kofi Kingston was fine, but I had no reason to care. Where was Epico? Where was Primo? I needed something here...
Ezekiel Jackson was given another promo this week. He is another guy I want to like but can't. His last run flopped, and it seems as if nothing about his character has changed.
The Ugly
I wanted more build for The Rock's return this Sunday at Survivor Series. Yes, they showed some footage from Raw, but he deserved even more. This is his first match in over seven years!
They should have been counting down his best matches. His debut at Survivor Series should have been shown in between commercials breaks. How about a "interview"-styled piece about coming back to the ring for the first time since 2004? No video packages on the great memories at Madison Square Garden?
I suppose my expectations could have been too high, but I wanted more "Rock is returning" type of content tonight. His return this Sunday feels big...just not really big!
My other complaint of the evening was joining a match in progress. I did not like this at all. Jack Swagger and Mason Ryan are both worthy of getting an entrance. There was no need to return from a commercial break with these two already going at it inside the ring!
I commented on this before, but I really do not like Ziggler being in two matches Sunday night. His single's opponent for Survivor Series was not even on Smackdown, so why bother? It is unsafe, and I really do not want to see any injury for Dolph right now.
The man is on the rise, and he has been on fire the past few months. There was no need for him to be in two matches last month. There is no reason for him to do the same again this month. Safety comes first, folks!
